Of course he is. Lets review the evidence: He dad said he had a demon child of a boy. People on the Veldt say they see a wild boy all the time. He's got a manly-shaped body. He wore a suit to meet his dad. If he was a girl the guys wouldn't of helped him pick out some clothes.

Yes, BMZ, you can skip Sabin and beat FF6 with just Celes, Setzer, and Edgar. I've done it before on my SNES (I have it almost done on my emulator). It's really pretty easy overall if you level up enough. Generally, level 70 for each character with as many good spells and equipment as possible is handy, since you do have to fight each statue with one person. Plus, I wish I had had Life 3. Oh, and you'll want the Safety Bit for the Samurais who'll do an instant death attack (which is rather annoying). I use Crusader, but not often. I generally don't use Espers in battle as I get the Magic Power+2 Esper equip effect on my three characters to get their magic power to 100+, thus making Meteor/Fire3/Ice3/Bolt3/Flare my weapons of choice. Have you seen what happens if you beat the game without Terra? Nothing far too different, but an interesting little scene. I think in my emulator game I left Shadow to die too (I ain't getting him in the group, after all). My standard set-up for equipment is: Celes is my primary warrior. She gets the Offering and AtmaWeapon, and Genji equipment. Setzer is the primary mage. He gets the Gem Box and any such stuff. I've never liked Edgar much, so he gets leftovers.

I usually have Locke, Sabin, Terra, and Mog as my best characters...

I mix it up a bit, with Locke as the thief that steals the extra Ragnarok and Atma Weapon off of the second last bosses, Shadow to throw them, Sabin to hack and slash with Offering and Genji Glove, and finally Celes, Terra or Strago as my main magic user.

FF6 gets my award for game which pulled me into it the most. I felt so depressed after Celes woke up to the destroyed world.

Lots of people know it. The cheat thing it not necessary. Level 99 in FF6 is for people who are insecure. Normally I level up my characters to really high levels by doing the classic load up on tents and fight lots of tough enemies near save points, but I beat FF6 at level 13/12/14/15. I rarely faught in random encounters. I hear the lowest levels you can have is 9, but I've yet to prove it. The highest level I had was 20, and I didn't use the two characters in the final battle (Terra and Edgar). Level up codes in this game are pointless unless you're a total wimp. This is not the case in other FF games, mainly ones where you have to level up to get better spells. I faught those wimpy rabbit creatures by Narshe for skill points.

The fun part is not saving Cid and giving him the bad fish. I switch off, sometimes I'll save him, sometimes I won't.
Normally in the world of ruin, the first chance I get, I start leveling up on Tyranosaurs and Brachosaurs. It's just too easy.

The only boss I found remotely tough was the one in Daryl's Tomb.
