I regret buying FF10 it was a very bad game with sad Voice Overs. the game had to many cut sceens and the main chara was a wimp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tidus was basicly a sub chara anyway! i mean the story was mostly about Yuna i mean you just should have played Yuna!!!!!!!!!! there was not real point in playing Tidus.....his story in the game was so little i wasnt even worth it. FF10 was just a showoff of GFX. if you havent bought it I HIGHLY DONT RECOMMED THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! is was a huge dissapoinment from the other FFgames.

Hmm.. I'm happy about buying Wild Arms 3, Devil May Cry, Kingdom Hearts, Neverwinter Nights, Metroid Fusion, Golden Sun 1+2, BoF1+2, Pokemon Ruby, and many many more.
I regret buying Legend of the Ancient Dragoon (some weird pc rpg, it DIDNT HAVE SOUND), a whole (big) bunch of pc games.
And last I regret (A LOT) selling Morrowind, considering I can't find the pc version anywhere.

Oh yes, and Final Fantasy IX is the best game in the series if you ask me. I hope you're being sarcastic...because if you're not...YOU'RE INSANE! FF IX was a absolute disgrace! It was trying to be Final Fantasy with more story and a job class system that wasn't there, that and FF VIII were terrible. FF VIII had a great story, but Squall was too much like Cloud and a lot less likeable, the draw system was unnecessary, having no armor and having to upgrade the weapons instead of buying them, and a bunch of other crap, it was a great story with WAY too many new ideas it killed it. As the saying goes, "too many cooks spoil the broth." FFVI was the best in the series, great story, great characters, great everything basically. Anyway... RPGs I regret buying: Breath of Fire 3, Beyond the Beyond (A character cursed from the start of the game until almost the end? What the hell?!), FF VIII, Chrono Cross (It was pretty, it had characters...it's no Chrono Trigger, hell, nothing is) And there are a few others that I choose to forget buying and or playing, they hurt my feelings...

I resent the Lumphy-spawn called Quest64 ever being born, and further my playing it was even worse than that.
There's a reason that whenever I reviewed a bad game way back when I wrote game reviews, I compared it to Quest64 in some way. (throw it in the Quest64 pile; almost bad enough to change its name to Quest64; etc etc)
So you don't like it when the writers write fantastic stories . . . Okay, that's a matter of opinion if you prefer horrible writing to quality writing.
And oh yeah . . . Dude, there was NO job OR class system. Each character does what they do, simply put. That has nothing to do with classes or anything of the like. So I'll take this arguement against two points that you might have but I don't know which you may be taking as your own . . . Either (A) You despise games that don't have class systems. Okay, you don't like more than 90% of the games on the market, that's just you. OR, (B) You think that they "attempted" to make a job/class system and failed . . . Which promotes my laughing for a long time. Just because people do different things doesn't mean there are classes. That's like saying that because I take Chemistry and my friend takes Biology that we are two completely different kinds of students.
Once again, me with the laughing which I don't feel like typing out.
It doesn't need to try. See that name right there? Yeah, that means it's part of the Final Fantasy "series".
Don't like character development, a (for the most part) non-cliche plot, well drawn (not graphics-wise) characters and history (or at least what we are told about it) , then okay, you don't appreciate well written fiction.
Although saying something "sucks" or is "horrible" in this, and most cases, is purely opinion, I only EVER accept opinions when there are arguements behind it, not just "I am a rolling dork! u suk". (Example: I bash FFX a lot, but I accepted someone's explanation of Seymour Guado being a unique "villain" because he truly felt that he wasn't being a villain . . . Hell, if everyone didn't have to die a grueling painful death in order to be painless and live a neverending happy life, then I would have done the same thing =P. Who said that, anywho?)
And about that lesser known saying . . . (I usually hear it slightly differently, like "One too many writers for few too many books.") It has no application in the context you put it in. It would have more to do with conflicting opinions and ideas, as would the problem be with the "chain" rm2k game going on. Just because FFVIII didn't do the same exact d**ned thing that every other FF game before it did doesn't mean that you have to bash it for that fact. If anything, I'm surprised that most people don't appreciate Square TRYING to break away from the same repetetive crap.

This is way off-topic, but I notice lots of Frailart banners around. I just have to say that frail arts is down for good, so anyone using it for hosting their pic needs to find a new host.

The gameplay was slow and there was no music, well, not for me and the story...quite cliché as far as I went.

If anything, I'm surprised that most people don't appreciate Square TRYING to break away from the same repetetive crap. OK, time to explain myself. The job class system I was refering to: Zidane: Theif, Vivi: Black mage, Steiner: Knight, Garnet: White Mage, Freya: Red Mage/Dragoon, Amarant: Monk, and Eiko: White Mage. There have a been a few Final Fantasy games that have had specific classes like this, FFI, FFIII, FFIV, FFV, FF Tatics, and now this one. FFIV was trying too hard to be earlier Final Fantasy games, using a job class system that wasn't there. Understand now? And the story wasn't all that amazing to me, I got bored with it after disc one, but played until disc three hoping it would get better, and it never did for me. In my opinion, it just wasn't up to par. And FFVIII, like I said, had a great story, but just too many different things at one time, it was overwhelming, I'm not saying FFVIII was difficult for me to figure out, it was just too much new. The characters were kinda drab too, Zell, Irvine and Quistis were the only characters I could stand, it was a great game with too many new concepts dragging it down for me. I'm sorry to all those that I offended with my FFVIII and IX bashing.

I've seen a LOT of people comparing these things . . .
Okay, White Mages had summoning back in earlier FFs! Wait, no, that was summoning . . .
And Monks used weapons! No, that's not right . . . And they threw stuff too!
No, that's a ninja. Say it with me. Nin-ja.
Zidane, Vivi, Steiner, okay. But don't MOST linear-type midievil-setting rpgs have thiefs and knights, at least one of each? And they were NEVER at any point labeled as these. Find it in the game and show me it, cause' these are just pure speculations. And EVERY FF game has a black mage. AND a white mage. AND a thief-like person. AND a knight-like person. AND hell there's a summoner in every d**ned one (wait . . . don't remember one in the original, then again, the grammar, spelling, and graphics stopped me from ever getting past the first town. I'm talking about graphics where you can't tell what the f**k some of the stuff is, not flashy new polygon graphics and all that nuts. I don't care about graphics so long as you know what the hell the stuff around you is.) , too. So saying that these are flaws in FFIX or FFVIII is saying that it's a flaw in the entire "series".
Too many new systems . . . No problem with the sphere system in FFX? No problem with materia in FFVII. The newly implemented system from FF III?
If it was just FF I with new graphics and a different storyline, then it would have stopped at FF II. Change is hard, but change is what makes things continue.

Change is good, but I'm just stating the fact that those two were the black sheep of the FF series, and I didn't like them all that much, and FFX sphere system is a neat idea, but it sucks at the same time for eliminating levels and stat gain like that. And Tidus is an annoying main character. And the summoner was from FFIV, which I stated that FFIX was trying to be like the older Final Fantasys. OK, argument over, I don't like them, my opinion, yadda-yadda.
