You may write games that aren't on the list.

Hmm In depth? FFTactics and Xenogears would be the most in depth of those I'd say.
Doesn't mean that they are the best story, just really in depth.

It was a tough choice between Final Fantasy Tactics or Final Fantasy VII.

FFX.... man I love that game. I'm not a fan of 7 at all really, but blah. FFX is my fave rpg I think. That or Chrono Cross.

*blinks* I found a little bug with this board.. I hit 'submit vote' before clicking a box thinking it would open another window for some reason and it switched to the 'voted look' and I can't vote now LOL. It didn't othingy my vote for anything (there where 3 votes when I clicked on it and 3 votes afterwards)
Anyways, of those listed I'd say Zenogears by FAR has the most detailed story. FF6 and FF7 would probably next down (probably in that order)
I'll admit I havn't played too far into BoF4 or Lufia
I personally didn't find Tactics' story to be 'detailed'.. it was pretty ho-hum cliche in my opinion. But I only got partway though chapter 3 before being bored out of my mind.. so I could be missing something.

I'd vote for Tactics, now that I think about it.

I don't know how you can get bored with FFT.

All I gotta say.

Indeed. FFT is incredible. I love it. I don't like Ramza though... and it has a low replay value.

Low replay value? Not really? Iv'e played it through many times. Using different class combos and getting through the deep dungeon. I still like going back to play it.

Wouldn't imagine a FF spin off having a great story...

Heh..
Anyway, I'd say Xenogears without a doubt. The storyline is just AMAZING. Can't wait for Xenosaga...

Urgh, you again? in FFT there are FF weapons, magic and summons. The storyline is regular, no other FF related. And it does have a great storyline.
I've never played Xenogears... well, I downloaded it but it didn't work. You think I can find it in Israel?

Xenogears had a great storyline, though a bit confusing at parts. I liked the use of psychology elements. Not only that, but it wasn't afraid to touch on themes that are largely downplayed or avoided in most RPGs out there. FFT also did that to some degree...I remember reading about some ludicrous complaint that FFT was anti-Christian or something like that...can you believe it? Obviously a case of someone reading a little too much into the game.

I played some of Xenogears, but not much to base any kind of valid opinion on. I stopped after I took a step and a battle popped up, took another step and a battle again, and again, and again. Too many random encounters is not a good thing.
