Just from what I heard that was supposed to be a remake of FF6 onto the N64. Obiviously you see Locke and Terra there.
Edit: and now I read the article. My bad. Funny thing is that looks better than the real FF7.

Nope.
FF7 was first thought to come out for the N64. This was before the 64 was even released mind you and Squaresoft was still with Nintendo at the time.
This was footage that was showing the game system off. The infamous silicon cg video. They used FF6 characters just to fill in.
Someone who visits my sites wanted me to scan that page for him. I have collected alot of gaming magazines over the last 13 years so I have a huge collection. I thought I'd show it here too. It's from a August 95' issue of Gamefan.

Well, the N64 is slightly more advanced than the PSX, so it might have done better on it.

Overall graphics would of been better, but there wouldn't be the movies, I believe.

Notice it says "Ultra 64". I believe that that was what they were going to call the Disk Drive in America. I also remember an old Cruis'n Game saying "And get ready for the home version on Nintendo Ultra 64!" Oviosuly, the Disk Drive never was released in Japan, so it was never relased here. edit: Am I crazy, or does it look like Locke has breasts?

The Ultra 64 was what they were going to call the Nintendo 64.. .It isn't talking about the 64DD which was called just that, the 64DD. The 64DD wasn't even planned yet. It is referring to the not released yet, N64 before it was known as just the N64.
