So what is your favorite MMO? IMO DAoC is the best I've every played.

Planetside! I still think back to the game and smile. I cannot say that for the others, though. Since I have consistently ranted about why almost all MMO's are awful in posts spanning many, many months, I won't bother to do it again. Planetside was cool though.
I have played DAoC, Asheron's Call 2, Anarchy Online, Ragnarok Online and Starwars Galaxies and with hindsight I can say none of these were good games. Of these I only enjoyed play SWG at the time, and even then I was fully aware of its faults and that my attention was wearing thin.
Anyone who votes for Ragnarok Online as the best MMO, which no doubt someone will, is a penniless chump. It is beyond me how anyone can play that rubbish, even if it is free.

I have tried many of these games, and RO is the only one I have enjoyed. It's cute, simple, and enjoyable with a group, which we have. It doesn't bore me, it doesn't force PvP on me, it's just a fun, long-lasting little game. Anybody who doesn't enjoy whoring exp, messing with stats and skills, pounding on bosses with friends, battling over guild territory, and hunting items isn't going to enjoy any MMORPGs anyway, and RO presents the basic idea in a cute and simple format I enjoy a lot. It's not perfect, that's for sure, and WoW looks incredible. But RO is, without a question, far and away the best game listed here I have played. FFXI probably beats it, but the random server business turns me off real good.

RO is a very fun game... if you play it in moderation. Some will be easily captivated by it, and I was at first. Though, in order to give the game a longer lifespan for me, I play it in good moderation, so it stays fresh and doesn't get old. I heard that Planetside started to become good after the bugs were gone.

Ultima Online is still the best MMORPG available, imo. The more action oriented style is way better for warfare (plus I like 2D). The skill system is much better than plain leveling. Housing also improved greatly with AoS. Been playing since July of 1998. Dark Ages (not DAoC) is another not that well known one that I enjoy. Been playing since Deoch 12. Dark Age of Camelot was a enjoyable MMORPG. Especially once you got into some Realm v Realm. I played a few characters. Ranger (Hibernia) to 20 and a Berserker to 27 (Palimodes). It's fun and the expansions really add to it. Ragnarok Online. I haven't played for a long while. Played Alpha the most and even then I enjoyed it. Asheron's Call. Only way I enjoy it is if I played on Darktide (pvp server). Then it was a very good game. Don't play anymore but used to play alot. I don't like the fact that to be good in PvP alot of people had similar skills but I do like the combat. It was also more action oriented. Final Fantasy XI. Well I'm only level 18 WAR/level 7 RDM at the moment but the game is fun and time consuming (like most). The community is actually pretty good and there are plenty of nice people. Just got my 20,000 gil Flame Sword the other day. Asheron's Call 2. I only played it for a month. It seemed to lack the magic that the first had. Didn't really like it that much but the graphics are pretty amazing. Everquest Online Adventures. This and FFXI are my two PS2 MMORPGs. I cherish both. EQOA just recently added PvP. Consensual dueling. EXCELLENT. Shadowbane. If you enjoy Guild Warfare and PvP, this one is good. Only real gripe is that the graphics aren't on par with others released at the same time and the point/click interface gets annoying. I like my keyboard to you know! That's enough for now but I've played ALOT of them. Current subscriptions are Dark Ages (nexon), Ultima Online, EQOA, and FFXI. Had to quit some but 4 is enough for now. Until WoW

Hmmm... I'm not sure which to pick. I have VERY fond memories of Asherons Call, not the second instalment though. Mainly because it was the first online game I ever played. DAoC was... in my opinion... totally crap; I played it for a day and wished I'd bought something else. The same with Everquest really, those were the two biggest money wasters ever.
Now moving on to FFXI, I imported it a few weeks ago and must say it is a very good game, not as good as Asherons Call was way back when, but still very good. Though it does have its let downs. One being that I kind of stopped playing it a week ago, it needs more gameplay. It's go out, kill, get items, level, go back to town, sell, buy, and repeat. Well then there was the missions, which weren't too exciting. Hopefully after I leave it awhile it may become more appetising, but for now I'll leave it in the corner.
RO, well I'm waiting to play it. I always have, seeing as I adore the graphics. They may not be stunning but I seemingly like them very much. Also it looks like simple fun. I may well have vote this if I'd had played it by now, but... I have to go with Asherons Call. It's no so good now, but I loved it much more at the time than any other computer game.

I'd love to play FFXI but I'm afraid that It wouldn't work so wellon my PC since SWG was a bit laggy and I'd have to get an internet and some kind of hard drive for my PS2 and not to mention a USB keyboard! That's pretty expensive if ya ask me.

I don't really like any.. they're all the same and all rather boring.. its all "fight fight fight fight. quest quest quest quest. Die. repeat".. well the rpgs anyway.. does playing quake 2 against like 30 people count as a MMO?

The 4th Coming. Greatezt Gamme EVAR!
Okay, maybe not . . . But a lv52 Warrior/Mage with a +1 gm one-handed axe . . . Yeah, that's a lot of fuggin' work. That game is all about community because it takes a long time to level and you NEED other people to do quests with you.
