You know what? There are a load of decent anime that have been a large disappointment to me. The jobs that the so-called "pros" have been far from adequate. At least from my point of view. No wonder the common public has such a bad idea about anime.Well, that's only in my school but still. I am Highly disappointed.
In Naruto(The Shonen Jump version)", The names of the Jutsus were rediculous. I mean "Art of the Doppelganger"?!?! That's so stupid!! Why can't they keep it as "Kage Bushin no Jutsu" and add a translation between the pictures. They did that in Ruroni Kenshin and One Piece. What sounds better, "Oh no!! He's using the Art of the Doppelganger!!" or "Kage Bushin no jutsu?!" I would personally choose the second.
I know I am sounding like a whining idiot but really think that the professionals could be doing a better job.

I personally like the english dubs. It annoys me reading the bottom of the screen to see what they're saying and not being able to actually watch the show/movie.

It depends on the anime. Some animes I don't mind watching the dub (of the few I've seen) because they're very well done (Rurouni Kenshin and .hack//sign) and others that I'd much rather watch the subbed version because they picked bad voices (giving Ren a british accent in Shaman King for example).
It really depends on how well done the dub is. If they try to find voices that sound like their Japanese couter parts, keep it relatively uncut, and keep the original music, I'll watch it for sure. Unfortunately though, being Canadian I haven't seen too many dubbed anime (I mainly only see stuff I buy and download off of the internet) so I can't really think of any exceptional dubs. I can think of some brutal dubs though (Yu-Gi-Oh, Sailor Moon, and Shaman King).
Speaking of Shaman King, I should finish watching those DVDs I got last week.
Edit: d**n typos

It's true that some dubs are okay, like Cowboy Bebop. But, I would almost always rather take the subs. Oh, and 8SlicesofPie, I really don't think that reading subs is bad. Either that I'm so used to watching Subs that it's natural but really, It will improve your reading skills.
