Wild ARMs 3 has got it all. Weapon Customisation. No MP. Well structured dungeons. Tools. Jet Enduro : One of the coolest character ever.
Yes, its got it all. All but one thing. A decent encounter system. Add this to the most annoying optional dungeon ever. The Abyss. Heres whats annoying about it...
1) You cant use Gimel Coins to save 2) You cant exit until you go down about 10 floors and you ask to be brought back. 3) The enemys migrant level is high : My migrant level is 6 and I lose about 7 points of my ECN gauge if i choose to dodge battles. 4) The enemys are criminally strong and/or annoying.
Now, my characters are resonably strong (Level 45 on all but Gallows, who is at Level 47) and on the 10th floor, i was nearly driven to insanity. I fought a really hard boss, then I was asked if i wanted to go back. I chose no, and went down further. First battle I get, Gallows is in danger versus 6 books. Bad. REALLY bad. The books are faster then Gallows, so i have to wait for all 6 to cast spells until Gallows can get a shot in. Oh wait! They cast Turbulence! Chance of hitting has gone down 50%. "nuts!" i thought.
After 5 turns (whichh seemed forever) the rest of the party came to the rescue. I have Virginia, Jet and Gallows do Gatling, and Clive do Locik-On. And guess what i find out?
THE BOOKS ARE FASTER THAN VIRGINIA AND JET!!!!!
Now, at this point, I was going mad. Virginia, Jet, and Gallows do Gatling on a book. Oh man. After 8 shots (almost 900 points of damage) the book still isnt dead. Clive does Lock-On, and finally, it goes down. After bout 15 mins, the battle is won.
Next battle is versus 4 of those weird Zombie things. A Pre-Emtive strike! All right! I have everyone do Gatling exept Clive. Again, no enemy is dead until Clives turn. I enter my next commands, this time, having everyone simply shoot.
After Jet, its the enemys turn. Oh man. They do over 700 damage. Everyones HP is about 1500. Bugger. Virginia and Jet are dead. Gallows and Clive are nearly dead. I cancel Clives turn and revive Virginia. Im all ready to use Mystic with a potion berry, but VIRGINIA HAS NO FRICKING FORCE POINTS!!!!!
The Zombies simply kill my whole party, and i use a Gimel Coin to restart the fight. Great. Restarting removes the Pre-Emptive strike. I end up summoning with all characters, and all 4 Zombies are still alive after Jets turn. The enemy kills Virginia and Jet and die after Gallows' summon. Great. Virginia and Jet lose max HP
Now, this tediouscy happened frequntly, and by 1 hour, Virginia and Jets max hp is about 600. 600. Six bloody Hundred. Now Virginia and Jet go down in one shot. By this time, I was pretty pissed. I didint want to turn it off, as I had gained about 2,000,000 Gella and about 5 levels up for everyone on the way. But it was too much. I had nothing on my ECN gauge, so i got encountered every 3 mins. I had 99 heal Berries and 30 Potion Berrys when i came in, now i have none. My only means of healing was to rely on Vitality and Revive Fruits. But, after i kept falling off the edge, i got mad. I was just about to get parallel with the teleporter to the next area and use the Gale Crest to carry me there, when I got encountered. Virginia was in danger versus the Zombies. Great! AGGH! GRRRRR! Switch ps2 off and come online to relax me.....
Anyone had a gaming experience similar to mine?

First of all, if Wildarms 3 had it all, everyone would love it. I thought the dungeons were too similar to each other. Well detailed, yes, but it's like they were copies... Tools is a nice feature, but plenty games have them. And Jet was an annoying character, in my opinion. (Just pointing out a few things, because in my opinion, no game has it all. I take those words as a challenge)
Hmm...my best experience has to be defeating a book with my maxed out characters in less than a minute. Yes, I just thought of that just now, but hey, my alotted game times for games like Wild Arms ranged from eighty to ninety hours. I don't own many games, but sure get the best use out of them.

no.. bucause.. I found a neat little trick.. (well its not really a tirck) You're nearing the end of the game right?.. and can pretty much go anyway.. if not then stop reading... *major spoilers*
anywy if you have gallows last tool (its in that dargon hunter's town)
anyway.. 1st fill all you water elemental defense (hopefully you have a couple gold guardians with you. Luceid and Schturdark at least, since they have the element ward you'll need) now go to little twister and use the dolls by the well.. you start a hard hidden boos battle and most likely only survive if you have a water ward.. anyway.. with the all elemental ward from lucied you'll have some insurance in case I'm wrong.. I haven't played in a while..
anyway.. go fight all the hidden bosses.. they're in Ka Dingel, Ark of Destiny (that blue memory statue), Greenlodge (you'll have to go through Nidhogg Pass again), and the Dissection Facility. And try you're hand at Gunner's Haven. Anyway.. you'll need to enemy hunt alot.. I suggest just buying the guide.. 'cause you enc should be in the 30s..
I think My guys where at: Gallows lvl 65, Clive lvl 58, and jet and vingeria were at like lvl 56. Your personal skills and equipment really help out more then anything else.. and book... fire bad...
anyway.. I hope I was helpful
the most annoying thing about that game is collecting all those d**n keys for the bonuses at the end of the game.. and the telepath towers and millinium puzzles were fun but tough. (the guide is helpful there)

Yes, i have all the tools, exept for Virginias last one. But...Gold Mediums? Gunners Heaven? What? Im only at the bit where...
SPOILER : HIGHLIGHT TO READ! Maya gets captured by the prophets, and the party has to get the Teardrop to get her back. Ive gotten them the Teardrop at the Ruins of Memory, and ive went to the Cradle of the Metal God, only to find that i cant enter it. END SPOILER
Since i had no idea where to go, I decided to explore. I took Lombardia to this place that was unaccesable without her, seached around, and found the abyss.

..Yeah, but Xenosaga's battle's were just hard at times; WA3's was nothing but annoying after got over it's graphic style, and realized how the battle theme was incredibly reptitive..

*even more spoilers* well you have to get the 4 lord idols and that them to the Fallen Sancturary. the idols are in the follows locations: - Goddess Idol: at Jolly Roger, Give Emilia the Suit Case (won at the battle with the Balal Quo Naga with you sandcraft).
- Wolf Idol: Gob's Hideout (use Virginia and talk to tesla in boot hill). Go to the rooms with the ladder and use Jet's sneakers to get to it.
- Dargon Idol: from the abyss 10th level boss.. I betting you have this already
- Lion Idol: This one you'll have to go to Gunner's Heaven. You need to beat the Novice devision. but first to get there, use virginia and in boot hill talk to Putnam. Then go there kick ass.. and win the Item Scope (its very helpful). NOw off to gem stone cave and go through the exit that leads to a small island. Use the item scope to find it lion idol
Ok there you go.. oh..and you'll be glad to know that you'll be able to make you're other guardians gold also.. *dances*.. (I'm not sure if you're far enough but...) also go to Boot hill (yet again) and use virginia (yet again) to and check her mother's grave.. there should be a letter that tell you how to get to a nice little place called Mimir's Well (its right near gunner's heaven). there you'll find a couple nice.. real nice items and when you get to the computer be sure to type in "emeth".. you'll fight a lovely boss from the 1st wild arms. just bost youe ice defence and attack with fire..
well thats enough of spoiling some of the secrets.. EDIT: this makes me wanna start playing it again (since I'm not into the 2nd.. d**n gella crazy..) I looked at my end game save and my guys are level 75 except Gallows who is 83. Time cleared: 034:48:18. Gella: 2,329,793 Migrant lvl: 18 ECN: 50/50 # of saves: 204 # of continues: 8 # of game overs: 0 Virginia stats: Hp: 3406 ATT: 227 DEF: 282 MAG: 341 MGR: 378 RFX: 447 AIM: 372 EVA: 574 Luck: Best | Guardians- terra roar, lucky hand, Love Charm. Jet stats: Hp: 4540 ATT: 303 DEF: 496 MAG: 172 MGR: 183 RFX: 373 AIM: 366 EVA: 474 Luck: Bad | Guardians- Flash Hit, Cosmic Cog, Hope Shard. Clive Stats: Hp: 3627 ATT: 626 (hehe) DEF: 344 MAG: 253 MGR: 237 RFX: 207 AIM: 460 EVA: 268 Luck: Worst | Guardians- Fiery Rage, Gale Claw, Brave Seal. Gallows Stats: Hp: 5524 ATT: 332 DEF: 285 MAG: 779 (hehe) MGR: 661 (hehe) RFX: 269 AIM: 125 EVA: 180 Luck: Good | Guardians- Aqua Wisp, Moon Spark, Lust Jaw. When you get to the final boss.. I'll tell you the way to beat it without receiving much damaged at all.. (and no.. no cheats where used.. just alot and alot.. ok every support spell..)

You're kidding, right?! I think the graphics are brilliant : Cel-Shading really suits the game, and it hard to imagine it NOT cel-shaded after playing it. After the batle music, well, i dont know about you, but its the best battle music ive ever heard. It suits the game so much its scary.

I still think WA3's graphics were beautiful and fit the game at large, but that "My God, these graphics are beautiful!" feeing starts to go away when you load the game up for the 20th time. Of course, they're still gorgeous..you see, in all actuality, I'm a terrible gamer; especially in strategy games but that's another story. So battles in WA3 could drag on forever, and by the time I hear that song rare up again for the umptenth time, it started to get on my nerves. Nevertheless, I truly appreciated it after hearing WA2's battle theme prior to that...ugh >__< Your probably right; I did hit it rather hard; seems my hatred for that Search system is seeping into other parts of the gameplay.

The search system....ugh...i hate it so much. And now im starting to get battles on Lombardia, which take AGES, but at least they're accompanied by a cool battle theme ;D
As for gold mediums, SAW, I now have them. And, just out of intrest, dont you think the personal skills they give you are a little too good? I mean, FP Charger?! Getting 25 FP just from guarding is a little too good, dont you think?

hehe.. wait.. there's even better ones.. like Green Thumb which doubles the effects of all healing berries and such if you max it out. Or the ECN Guage Charge.. it re-fills you ECn bar after ech battle.. though I have yet to find the item that does that.. its called a Magic Candle.. And theres nerconomicon that powers up you're arcana.. (I can't wait to give that to Gallows again.. he's unstopable with it) There's alot of insanely beneficial ones.. GUn hero, Finest Arts, even Luck Boost is cheap.. but at least you need to be highly leveled up to max 'em out (one of 'em takes like 10pts each level).. and thats when there really cheap.
but the bosses are hard at the end(except for the last boss) and it helps out..
wait till you go through the game's replay mode.. it fills like you're cheating.. though you don't have any of the mediums so its not all that bad..

I like it though I'm stuck 'cause I'm too lazy to find something that protects against Auto-Death. Any help?
