How do you make 3D graphic on RM2K. This post is mainly for NanoTechMonkey. I want to make games like your supposed FF7-Aftermath. Whenever it comes out. If any one knows, send me a message and reply.#nosmileys

Three-dimensional graphics are, indeed, a feasible reality with Rm2k. However, they aren’t exactly true to the context of current, or even former, generation 3d material. What you can create in Rm2k is simulated 3d – 3d images on a 2d surface that are given “depth” through complex manipulation of pictures, chips, and events utilizing character sets. Essentially, what you create are pre-rendered backdrops (ala “FF7” or “SaGa Frontier”), not true 3d real-time. Basically create a panorama (bear in mind that the panorama must correlate to the exact size of your map, or else you’ll be unable to view it in the Rm2k editor). Import this into Rm2k at 256 color and setup your map. For areas that appear above hero, use a chipset, picture, or even an event. For places that the hero is not allowed to pass, use a blank (ie, transparent) chipset set to same level as hero (you could use a blank event, but so many events can sometimes lead to lag). And uhm… That’s it, actually. There’s more you can do, with shadows and lighting and things like that, but that’s through events and pictures. I’m sorry if this really doesn’t help all too much. For a game that has successfully used this effect, however, I strongly recommend Lun Calsari’s “The Way.” Available here: www.lun.cjb.net/

Psygon is right, as usual. It isn't coming out, it's a dream of an FF7 fan.

*glares at Cloud7 and shakes fist* That's my avatar...
But anyway, Aftermath is never going to come out. If it miraculously does, then we'd all be suprised. But it never will. And real 3D graphics are imposible in RM2k.

The best graphics you can do with rm2k are those frome Tales of Destiny 2 on the ps1,though it is more like 2d graphics with another kind of view that make you believe it's 3d,but it's not.
