Bombardment of Baghdad begun moments ago. The President will address the nation at 10:15 PM EST. www.foxnews.comEdit: I just realized that on the very first page of threads, I made a topic called "And So It Ends.."

I prefer news.bbc.co.uk/ as it is generally less biased in its reporting. I saw the President's speech a few minutes ago. I am dissapointed in my country's leaders and their allies, but I'm hardly surprised Bush has gone through with his little war. Time to 'protect our freedoms' by launching an unprovoked assault on a weakened and terrified nation with no ties to terrorism.

So you're a warmongering hippie, hm? Provoked? No. Preventable? Absolutely. That Hussein chick had 48 hours to leave and didn't knowing good and well the consequences. Noweesdunnit.

This is gonna be the STUPIDEST war EVER. The only non-stupid wars are those fought for the right reason - self-protection. And frankly, since 1812 the United States hasn't fought one of those.

Ahh it is a sad inevitability. I mean, did anyone REALLY believe that Bush WASN'T going to attack? I guess all we can do now is hope it is over with quickly and with as few casualties as possible.

Oh bloody h#ll. And so Gulf War II begins...
That moron. The fate of 2 countries rests in the hands of a guy who died choking on a pretzel and another who competely underetimated the american forces.

When I saw the topic's name and that it's by The Jacket, I kinda knew it was about that. Do you think Al Gore would've been a better president that Bush?

The US needs a Republiant President like Canada needs a Conservative Prime Minister. Gore would have been a much better president.

Who cares if there a war going on?
We will win. It will throw the economies into recession, make fellow Arabian countries rally up an alliance with Iraq as many get oil from there.
The people will be against Bush and Blair thus giving them less chance of being re-elected.
Sadam will most probably go and hide, get support of his allies and go back to Iraq.
Can we not just keep the war related comments in ONE topic?
