when making a char move in a "move event" comand, and you want them to chage their pattern what comand do you use to change that?
"like you go to the set graphic thing in the event" set it to something and then want it to chage its pattern. not direction but pattern not the way they face, but the pattern the thing on the side. how do you change that?? with a move event.

You make the move event and have say
<step left>
<step left>
<step up>
<step down>
<step right>
<step right>
and then you check repeat movement.
And if that doens't work you could make a second page in the event with a different movement pattern and make a switch like "Change Movement" have to activated for it.

i tried that but they move... is there a way to keep them from moving?

You could use the "Stop All" command but that would stop EVERYTHING.

Why would you want to change the pattern without having them to move? Just change the Pattern when the character is supposed to move...
