[glow=red,2,300]Okay, I'll give it a try. A switch is exactly like a lock, when it's unlocked/off, something is said/something happens, but when it is locked/on, that thing is locked away until unlocked again. Okay bad example....[/glow]
[glow=red,2,300]Let's say you right a message. "Insert your message." Now if you do not want that to be displayed again, put a switch on. To do this, under event commands page 1, click change switch. Now find a blank spot and type a new name for the switch, e.g. have said message. Make sure the switch is set to ON, then click ok. Now in the event window, click new page. Now near the top left corner, there is a bunch of options called EVENT CONDITIONS. An event condition is like "this will only appear if this happens" type thing. e.g. under Event Conditions, click the first option, SWITCH. Now locate you switch: Have said message and click ok. Now that part of the evnt will only work if the switch "have said message is on."[/glow]
[glow=red,2,300]Now for your getting rid of monster thing. It's very simple. When the battle is finished, make the monster say something such as: "You'll die soon." Now after that message, choose change switch, then make a new called "monster one dead." Make sure it is set to ON and click ok. Now create a new page with a blank graphic, and set the event conditions to Switch: "monster one dead."[/glow]
[glow=red,2,300]Now I'll try to explain what all this does.[/glow]
1.The battle ends. 2.The monster says something cool. 3.You make a switch saying that the monster is dead. 4.You make new page. (with blank graphic, or maybe dead monster) 5.This new page can only appear if the switch MONSTER DEAD is on.
[glow=red,2,300]I really hope I've helped and it's not too confusing. The only way I learned was to fiddle around a bit, see what this does, why doesn't this work, that type of thing. You wait until you get to variables, your going to LOVE them....[/glow]
