Why 'o' why must they ruin the ultimate game by making a sequel to it?

It has yet to be confirmed.. unless your talkin' about FFX.
And I don't see how making a sequel can ruining it. Your jumping to conclusions and assuming the worst, I'm afraid. Relax! If they made a game as great as it, whose to say they can't make a sequel just as great or better? Especially now that they merged with Enix.

Ruin!? Pah. PAH! Ruin a 1997's PSX game by making a sequel to it in 2003 on the PS2? Yeah. Pah. I think I'd prefer a remake though. But never ruin. If you're truly madon FFVII, you gotta love the sequel. It ruins nothing. Mmmm... maybe you mean that... after the sequel releases, we wouldn't wanna play FFVII anymore? is that what you mean? well... can' argue with that. . But now you'll play the sequel over and over... who knows? it might become better than FFVII. A PSX's game sequel on the PS2 can never ruin anything. You got that?

They will make some sh*tty way to revive Aeris and Sephiroth really and it will be a complete and utter thingy up. Ruins the good name of FF7. RPG sequels really aren't very good. I can't believe they are ruining FF7. What a waste. It was the best game ever, but a crappy sequel will definatly ruin it. -_- Just look at the crap square have started to release "FF10", "Kingdom Hearts"...FF10 is OK, but nothing compared to the older ones, that is how FF7-2 is going to go, and now Square has joined with some rookie company who will probably make it complete bollocks. Kingdom Hearts was a complete joke and that ruined the good name of FF7 and the name of FF8. FF7-2 is just going to make the name of FF7, which is known by all really, plummit so far it goes into the depths of hell.
Square must be really struggling now.

Yeah, I think I read somewhere that is FFX-2 is successful, they'll probably have a go at FFVII-2. This would most probably be a bad idea, even if they create some really nifty continuation of the plot which matches the first. The problem is that, as shown by the number of FFVII RM2K Games, the majority of people have already gone that step further by themselves, and formulated their own opinions, in the form of RM2K Games or "sensitive" fanfics. The majority of die-hard FFVII fans would probably disagree with it in some way or another if it was to be released, combined with the fact that like we've already demonstrated that most fans will already have a negative response to the idea before work is even made.
The new game, new story, new world, new characters, new whatever, idea works very well in my opinion: they should go on with it.

Rookie company? Dragon Warrior came out before Final Fantasy, and Enix is far more popular in Japan then Squaresoft .. They even made the Best Selling Game Ever, Dragon Warrior 7.
Ah well, I continue to play games because there fun. You people are making video games into Hollywood, seriously ...

think swaur eis going downhill. WORKING WITH NINITENDO AGAIN!Square's dead, man! And the army of armed Nintendo fan-boys came marching down towards this topic. I do however see the logic behind the remaining reasons. And the fact that Square want to join with Enix suggests that they are getting a little desperate to "get back up to the top", as it were, (by requesting the help of another company full of excellent designers).

No, Sony's PS2 does not have "better graphics", (in fact, it has WORSE graphics), it's just that Square is amazing and can create very good graphics with the PS2's inferior (but still good) graphics capabilities.

And if the PS2 is that good, think what the Gamecube could do. And take what the Gamecube could do and make it better, and you got the Xbox's graphical capabilities. I think if Square can do that good on the PS2, the power of the Gamecube or Xbox has yet to be unleashed.

Well even Square themselves have doubted their own ability to make another game as great as FF7. Personally? I agree. FF7 was perfect in so many ways, it would be a ridiculously difficult feat to pull off even for the masters of the genre that they are. I think FF7 is best left how it is. It had the perfect ending; it wrapped up many issues but left the player thinking. If they added in some crap about a new enemy or an old foe returning it would just get cheesy and like a bad mindless action movie. The only way I think they could pull off another FF7 game would be to have a prequel or an alternate story, like... running alongside FF7.

I love Kingdom Hearts. Most people who are trashing it havn't even played it, or if they have, they havn't played a meaningful amount. If theres anything I hate, it's ignorence.
