When I first joined this community back in 2000, it was not unusual to see 2-3 good games get released each month. For every ABL release, you could be sure that a Phylo 2 or a War Never Ends would also come out that month. ( This is why an award like the MGA became feasible. ) However, over the past few months, the scene's become quite dry. Occasionally, we'll see a game like The Frozen World get a release, but overall, scrolling down the forum pages at GW, here, and in other large communities, there just aren't a lot of new quality games coming forth or available for download. Any theories or ideas why? Maybe I'm missing them?

Just the fall lull. Winter and Spring are theoredically the trees that will bear the fruits of great games, I hope.

Well, there are quite a few games that look good that are in the making, they just take some time and eventually will almost all show up around the same time.

I think there's a bit of a slump in the first semester of everybody's school year. People are most busy in these times and you don't really see much. I myself have had little time to work seriously on a game besides planning-wise.
Me and a few other vets around here have had some incredible game ideas, but they're early in planning and we're all always busy... I'm hoping at least one of the two games we're thinking about will see the light of day.
