There are a few things out there in Legion Saga that people may pronounce differently than others. Take Shotan for example. Some pronounce it 'shaw-tan' while others pronounce it 'show-tan'. Ossal... I'm also thinking of a way to pronounce that. I dunno, there are some other names that I can't pronounce. (and if I can, I don't think I'm pronouncing them correctly.) Anybody else know of something they can't pronounce?
NOTE: This isn't meant to insult the skankin' elf or the joy that is Legion Saga. I just wanna know how to pronounce some names and see if people share the same feeling.

Yeah, this is the problem that all games run into without voiceovers. How do you pronounce Taisu or Kima?
BTW, Kamau, do you ever think you'll put voiceovers into one of your future games. You could get alot of people to help out.

Voice acting fills up the sound folder pretty quick...and it usually sucks too.

Heh. Voiceovers, eh? Well... yeah sounds like a bad idea if most of the characters had voices. But it would be okay if it were only at the beginning or something.

It's easy to pronounce these if you know Japanese or are familiar with fantasy names.

Yeah, voiceovers was a bad idea, but if done right, they could improve the game without adding too much more in the sound folder.
Anyways, what do you mean by fantasy names? And I seriously doubt any fantasy games use real Japanese names.

I never could figure out how to pronounce Meluvet.
Is it meh luh vet or meh loo vet?
Or something else entirely?

meh-loo-vet I imagine. And since Kamau's game LS is a fantasy world, he does use Japanese names for a lot of his characters (like Sazaku)

Well, you can't really give them fancy modern, right?
Doesn't Grandia use names like Ryo, Tio and such?

Taisu = Tie-su. Sounded Japanese, and Japanese have a very strict way of speaking. A=ah, I=ee, U=ooh, E=eh, O=oh. Tah-ee-soo. Taisu. (This coming from someone who can't read a lick of Japanese. That's all I learned from some website, so take my knowledge for the grain of salt it's worth.) And, I always thought Meluvet was French. Me-lu-vey. >shrugs<

..It's kind of weird, but I learned how to pronounce Meluvet by remembering the neames of characters of the Suikoden series..
Mel- The Girl with the dog puppet she uses to attack with.
You- As in Shu, the tactician.
Vet- As in Maximillian, who was a "veteran."
Mel-You-Vet

Heh, if you get caught up on Shotan and Kima then perhaps Legion Saga is not the series for you... ai = y like in fry and try ei = ay like in bay and clay Here are some of the harder names to pronounce: Meluvet = mel-yoo-vay Veramonde = veh-ruh-mond Ghzan = zaan (long "a" sound like aaah) Xaertrix = zair-tricks (zair said like air or chair) Csozhia = so-zee-ah Any other requests?
