Game Name : Sonic Adventure DX : Directors Cut
Format : Nintendo Gamecube
Graphics
The graphics arent bad. Theyre occasionally messed up, but the characters are brilliantly drawn and animated. Sometimes, the characters do look out of place, for example, when they're in Central Station by humans and cars. The game jumps a tiny bit at places, which can be expected from such great character detail, but apart from that, they're pretty decent, so im giving graphics a 8/10
Gameplay
Darn fun, but occasinally spoiled by crap camera angles. Even with the L and R buttons included there to rotate the camera, its still pretty awkward. Why Sega couldnt put the simple "center camera" button in there is beyond me.
In the stages (sorry, "ACTION" stages....) you have an objective which is diffrent for every character. After youve done that, theres 2 more objectives, again, diffrent for every character. And they're not the kind of ones that cause you to go mad. Theyre not too hard, and not too easy at the same time, giving overall pretty good game play. 9/10
Sound
Ahhh. The classical sonic music is bliss. The "Froyoop" noise as sonic jumps. The "Congingnig!" nosic as you lose your rings, although the voices to explain exactly what you are doing on the menu screens, in the voice of the character you last played as, is annoyingly cheesy. Sonic, i did not need to be told that i can "listen to awesome sounds!" in the sound test, thank you.
As for the music.......AGGH! Its so cheesy its unreal. The songs with lyrics make you wish that there was a music volume bar. But no. Most of the music is exagratted, like the Mystic Ruins, where the music gives you the impression of it being some sort of dangerous place, when actually, its pretty calm. Sound, youre getting a fair 5/10
Final Score : 7/10
Rent or buy?
Rent. R-E-N-T. If you like the game, buy it. Im usre theres a lot of people out there who bought it first and were dissapointed by it
