Well I'm bored and this forum never has much activity, so I guess I'll post about a new anime I have seen, Read or Die.
Read or Die is a short series of 3 episodes (might be a OVA, don't know details ) It's similair to a superhero-ish story, but of course it has those Japanese quirks that make Anime fun to watch. For example the main superheroine is 'The Paper', a girl who can control and do practically anything with paper. Other characters are Ms. Deep (think Shadowcat with a sexy outfit and gun) and some army guy who I don't think actually has any cool powers . The villains are also entertaining, full of an electiric powered dude and a part-man part-bird (don't ask me for names, it's been a while since I watched it and with 3 episodes it wasn't like they were repeated often.)
What I do remember is that the villains have something to do with old famous authors who are bent to find a secret of controlling the world, which is of course explained in a bunch of old tomes (get it? Read or Die? ) So like all good superheroes, the three metioned above answer the call to save the world. Yeah, not a great story, but there is one twist that makes it interesting (which makes it fine for 3 episodes.)
So to finish up cause I'm not thinking clearly right now, it has ineresting characters, an average story, and some nice tunes mixed in to make a good rental (though if you really want to I guess you can buy it, it's only one DVD)
To my point: Anybody else seen it?
