I just recently seen this anime movie on the Stars Action channel, and I must say that it rox! I like how the 3-D background is comblined with well animated characters (It's the best animation I've seen in any anime, maybe even better than Disney animation...). The most shockin thing may not be the animation but the music! It's the first time I've heard jazz, ragtime, and blues in an anime! I know some people won't like it. but to me, I almost like an improvment. I fully recomend that you add this to your anime to your collection. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give it a 12! You really should watch it!

I have the R2 DVD, and despite the fact at being appalled at the fact that on the UK DVD the dts track is english dubbed, and on the US version the dts track is the japanese subbed, I still was entertained with the film itself. I liked the fact that lots of different styles of drawing (each character was drawn in a different style) were encorporated into a single picture, and as you said, the music doing a similiar thing. I was quite surprised to hear that kind of music in a sci-fi film, let alone an anime, but it worked extremely well. I believe the reason for doing so was to pay tribute to the 1930s German silent film (Hitler's favourite film, apparently) that it was heavily based on, which would have probably been accompanied with similiar sorts of music as are on the soundtrack to this film. And for the cheap plugging section, here's my review of it: www16.brinkster.com/deeleanpro/reviews/mreview.htm

God d**n I loved that movie. The music went along with the piece excellently. Also, the android in the trenchcoat that was guiding the main character and his uncle near the begging was THE coolest looking robot ever.

The movie suffered from poor characters. It was a tad boring too. Otherwise, I liked it.

When the robot in the trenchcoat got his head blown off, I almost cried . He WAS the coolest robot in the movie! As for the music, I glad some people appreciates it. (The character are cool and it's not boring )

Blake, I'll have to disagree with you here. I LOVED the characters, and I was never bored. The movie was so friggin awesome, ESPECIALLY Fifi. I love Fifi.

Shut up. The kid and the robot girl just became friends all of the sudden. I really didn't care.
