I've heard vaguely of this. It's one of the newer alternate uiverse ones. Are the mech desings any good? Are they realistic like in 8th MS Team or somewhat comical like in G Gundam?

It's not comical like G Gundam. At first, it's kinda like OYW, and it somewhat goes from there. It's pretty good.
