Do you belief in capital punishment or any other forms of execution.
I myself am not sure what I think about this subject. There are many evil creatures out there that can never be redeemed but what gives us the right to take the life of another?

I'm completely against Capital Punishment.
Wait, would forcing a guy to stay in jail all his life be considered that?

Nope. That's what capital punishment is for though. You can't just throw them all in jail for life. Something's gotta happen to the really bad ones. Of course I don't think painful or violent forms of capital punishment should be used.

Hmm ... hard subject ...
First of all, I would say that spending your life in jail can be as bad as being executed, so in some ways a proper, full life sentance (not just 10 - 20 years) is a form of capital punishment .. so in this way, I am for it.
However, capital punishment usually means executing someone who has done a truly horrific or terrible crime. I think common murderers deserve to live in jail ... only people such as Adolf Hitler deserved to be executed, or Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden.
But executing people like them is a hard subject in itself, whether or not they deserve to die, or just live alone in confinement.

Most murders are spur of the moment things, and even if it is a horrific little thing, the reasoning behind it could be pretty shallow. Some people will truly regret their mistakes, and maybe these people shouldn't be killed. However, people convicted for numerous murders, and are generally conceived to be heartless [insert profanity here] should perhaps come their "just desserts". But, having said that, what would you prefer: to spend at least 25 years in complete hell (or so our cinema tells us), by which time you've been released, you wouldn't be able to do anything worthwhile with your life, or to have it taken away full stop by a seemingly painless injection? If I were (and I'm not suggesting anything), I think I'd actually want to undergo Capital Punishment; I'd have messed my life up from the point where I'd murdered someone, and I think it'd be the better decision. For this reason, we should keep the "nasty" subjects rotting in some high-security prison, and we shouldn't use Capital Punishment.
Now for the argument I normally use against Capital Punishment: Capital Punishment supposedly comforts the victims of the murdered, right? But it could never truly compensate for their loss. Capital Punishment also creates new victims: those of the murderer. What about the murderer's family? They'd have to accept that the crime committed was pretty dreadful, but then would they able to accept that they'd undergo the same emotional loss as the victim's family would? A loss of any life is a great loss to at least a few people. The murderer's family could be completely innocent and unaware of the criminal's acts. And they could still love him very dearly. Why should they have to suffer?

I definatly agree with it. Prisoner's cost a LOT of money. Prisons cost a lot of money. If people commit serious crimes, they should be killed for it, unless they want to die, in THAT case I think they should have painful deaths, as they really do deserve it. I think whatever crime is committed, the same should happen to you... Unless it's a really small crime which I have committed of course.

I don't really have the "fry-em-all" mentality of people like George Bush, but I don't have an issue with the death penalty in certain extreme cases where guilt is verified beyond the tiniest shadow of a doubt.

I think some truly sick people (like the lower mainland Pigman) should be executed instead of sitting in jail for free for the rest of their life and being fed by the tax payer's money.

Captial punishment...
Though I do think that its rather terrible to just kill people, those with incredibly sick minds should deserve it... but nothing violent... deadly injection would do just fine.
I mean... they're gonna die whether they get fried or get the injection. Why bother frying them? They'll just die in a rather messy and painful death... Captial punishment however might keep crime down since people have a great fear of death, but some innocent people died because of this. I believe there was a story awhile back that a woman killed her husband because he was attempting to kill her, but because she killed someone, she got the death penalty... I THINK thats how the story went... happened awhile back so I don't remember it clearly.
But I can see why people would probably want violent death penalties... makes people more fearful of commiting a crime. I'm rather...mixed up about it... don't know whether violent or peaceful ones should be used... or both.

Death penalty embodies the philosophy that every wrong deserves an equal revenge. Instead of death, why not use prisoners as slaves or soldiers? They would prove more useful doing the dirty work of the world than merely dying like pigs.

Paul, I'm sick of you and your liberal ramblings. And ano- Wait, I just actually read your post, nevermind. As for my stance, yes I am for capital punishment but as Paul said, only when there is no question of innocence or guilt.

..I really, really hate saying this, but when you think about it, Capital Punishment seems like the best decision..and sometimtes it's not..
Maybe things'll be alot easier someday, and we can do that neural resosocilization thing like in Xenosaga..that would solve alot of problems..
But until then, I wish we could somehow categorize murderers and people who have done similar heinous crimes, into the serperate fronts; those who have killed, and show remorse towards their actions, but have been sentenced to death, or life, and those who show no remorse for their actions.
Then we kill the ones who show remorse and are sentenced to life or something like that and have no possibility of being free, and keep the ones who show no regret towards their actions with a conviction of Life with no paroll. It makes sense, instead of making the lesser evil suffer, end their suffering...kill them..

Every case really should be treated on its own merits. Let the prisoner decide what he wants. Then do the opposite . Just desserts.
