I quite agree, Thy, that in all likeliness given the size of the universe that life began on other planets. However, there is still no credible evidence (from my knowledge) to show that they do exist. In which case, I suspend belief until credible evidence does come to light.
"But you know how much I like the scent of Snuggle," Voldemort said in a sulky voice. "I like my evil robes to be fluffy soft and cuddly-fresh."

Of course. It's unrealistic to think that we are the only life. That's like the Europeans saying that they were the only of their kind then they met Africans...and Indians...and Native Americans and so on. Someday, when we harness plasma engines (which is believed to produce near-unlimited energy) we'll find some sort of life out there. That, or it'll find us.

^_^, I much prefer Ewoks though.
But yeah, though, to say that human beings are the only life-form would be a statement depicting ignorance and "big-headed-ness". The aliens out there in other planets must be disgusted. If they don't share the same viewpoint, of course.
Afterthought: Whilst they're in the news, this may interest you:

On the subject of the cloned child, even though its COMPLETELY off topic, I don't think cloned humans would ever be accepted in the world, us humans have always found things like that rather disturbing...it would be like how the "whites" never accepted the "blacks", nowadays there are still people who don't like coloured people.
Also, in the news, about the childs Mother is her sister, her grandparents are her parents. Yeesh, that'll be confusing. Poor thing.
Can imagine how much bullying would go on. "Test tube baby"...
Technically, we have proven evidence of life on other planets. A while back, a nu,ber of single-celled organisms were found on Mars. So they're not aliens in the way we picture it, but they're still aliens

Maybe not: the 4th Alien movie was one of the biggest piles of rubbish I've had the misfortune to experience, and therefore doesn't count .
The clone apparently has lots of defects, will be susceptible to diseases, etc, and will most probably be dead before "it" is 18.
I just brought the clones thing up because it was presented by a cult (website link above) whose entire existence is based upon aliens being up there. Rather a farcical existence, but then, that's cults for you.
