I will have never known these people, and they are so far away that it's impossible to feel any great compassion, But what I do feel is respect for these intelligent people, losing their lives due to an old craft, could have easily been rectified by the people high up. They may be just a handful of people in the whole of the world, and they may not seem to be particularly important people to the majority of the world, but they are nevertheless people, and their deaths should be faced with the aforementioned respect. I won't lie: I won't be able to feel any passionate sympathy for these people. Yet everyone on this earth is just as important as anyone else, and I respect that. My words go out to the families of those who passed away in a most undesirable turn of events, their colleagues, their friends, etc. Basically, everyone who must be feeling great sympathy for the astronauts.

I'm glad this has reached a peaceful end. However, I am pretty sickened that you are joking around about cookies in the same thread as you are discussing today's tragedy. Now, the following is not an insult, I'd hope that it could stay on here among some pretty cold opinions:
Inquisitor, the opinons you have stated, whether we have to respect them or not, are the things that terrorists are made of. They care for noone else, they think that as long as it's not a member of their organization dying, everything is fine. You express inconsiderate and immature points of view that if you do not shed as you grow older, you will lead a pretty bad and lonely life - something you may not regret until your death bed, when noone stands in there with you simply because they're not related to you. You have said several inconsiderate things in my months and months of being here, but this one about tops them all.

We had to regain peace somehow. Cookies are the perfect way. I guess the serious discussion hasn't ended yet though.

About the people saying that the space ship was too old, those ships are made to withstand 100 flights and it was only flown like 40 times in 20 years (i think). And they are updated all the time as new technology comes along.
