Ok, here's my problem. My 5-year old neice damaged my SoundBlaster Live! 5.1 installation disk so bad, rendering it useless. But we didn't need the disk since SB Live! was already installed.
Inevitably, I have come to a situation where I must reinstall SB Live! 5.1. (had to reformat the drive). I don't have the disk because it's skrewd up.......What can I do? Don't tell me vaguely to download drivers at the soundblaster sites.....I can't find where I'm looking for. I need a direct download link to a driver download place for SB Live! 5.1 or a link to somewhere where I may purchase a replacement disk. Please help me.........it is hell without sound!

What version of Windows (or what OS if not Windows) are you using? edit: I have found a download link for Win 9x/ME, however, I am unsure if this is the complete driver package, or just an update. If you care to give it a try, use this.

OS is Win 98...... Edit: God must hate me, because he sent me a Bad CRC error for that file link you gave me. Redownloading it doesn't work, god d**n it!

Just download the drivers off the Internet.. use Download.com or Google.com. Or the Soundblaster official page.

The soundblaster site doesn't provide full drivers, just updates.

I managed to get a full driver package, but go figure......It says, "Please wait. Extracting temp files" then it blanks off the screen and nothing ever happens, even if I wait for 10 minutes. (I have a fast PC so it can't be that.) I redownloaded the file at a different site and the same s*** happened. Woe is me.......

At that point, you get to muck around in safe mode to search for.... Stuff.. Like driver conflicts, always fun. Dunno why that'd cause your screen to go blank though. You might try completely removing any software pertaining to your soundblaster, and re-install it again, is all I can think of right now.
Also, are you sure that package you found is exactly for your card? Not another flavor of the SB lineup like x-gamer or sb live platinum?

Hey Guys, if you need to get the driver for your soundblaster stuff, go to soundblaster.com. They have to have some drivers because, well, they just have to!

They only give driver updates, not the full driver package needed to get his card working. You can't run anything on an update alone without the base installation that's to be updated, after all. And unless they suddenly changed anything, they don't release full drivers on the site.
