personally i like original aspect ratio, mainly widescreen. I hate fullscreen, the faces of people get too stretched (for any of you who have seen Hannibal in fullscreen know exactly what I'm talking about)

This is something for the General Discussion forum. Debates is for more 'serious' stuff, mmkay?

Depends on the TV.. Widescreen isn't so great on small TVs. However, I have a semi-big TV (32" or so I think) in my room so I prefer Widescreen 'cause you can see more of the screen.
Random fact: Star Ocean 3 will have widescreen so you can see a wider part of wherever you are. r0x0r.

Original Aspect Ratio. I prefer to watch things in Widescreen, but if a film was intended to be in Fullscreen (quite a few of Kubrick's are? I think The Shining was, anyway), then I wouldn't argue. I prefer things to be in their original form, and not be tampered with.

yeah, original's good, but most of the time it's used widescreen. But i put my vote on original.
I think kubrick made a couple of fullscreen films, but most of them were widescreen. All his films, before Full Metal Jacket, ruled. The ones afterward (Eyes Wide Shut and A.I.) sucked. I still can't seem to get clockwork orange outta my head, though.

I've only seen The Shining and A.I. and his: I watch too much rubbish ;D. The Shining was excellent, and A.I. was in my opinion great but heavily, heavily flawed. And I have seen parts of ACO. They were extremely memorable, if not for the right reasons . There's a topic in Anime / Manga entitled: "Subtitled or Dubbed" I think, and I prefer for Subtitled for the same reason: I think that a film's original format should be retained. I can't think of any other directors that filmed in fullscreen, apart from every indie film-maker.

I put Widescreen because I interpreted the question as "If you could choose between Widescreen or Fullscreen, which would you prefer?" .. I didn't even take Original Aspect Ratio into consideration because I knew so many people would be like you two and say exactly what you did So if I had the CHOICE, Widescreen.

sorry about that, Mpaul.
i've already planned myself to be an indie/b-movie/animation filmmaker. I'm making a short film right now (in concept progress). I'll post it on a website (i'll make one) and then see how you guys like it. If you do, i'll make a full-length one. Yes, it'll be widescreen, as that is my personal preference.
