With the summer here, I have lots of free time. Additionally, a D&D group I'm running for currently has major, major problems of everyone not showing up for sessions. So, I'm seeking those who'd like to play to respond. Right now my current group meets Mon-Thr from 10pm CST to 2am CST, though if enough people respond saying other times work for them, I'll probably alter it.
Right now, I'm DMing an 18th level game, but if I get people interested we'll probably run a new game that's more low level. More ifno as questions (if any) come up.

I've never played D&D... only crappy rpgs based off its battle system.. prehaps I'll give it a shot.. though I'd have to figure out what time that is in eastern time..

In Eastern time, that'd be 11pm-3am. If that time isn't good for you, then respond with what time is good for you, and I'll try to work with you. I'm running 3.5, so the stuff you'd have to at least glance it would be at www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=d20/article/srd35Just glance over the basic rules (such as ability scores, classes, skills, and feats), and that'll help. The spells section is only handy if you want to play a bard, wizard, sorcerer, cleric, or druid (paladins and rangers get a very limited spellcasting ability too). The magic items are good to know for character creation too, though right now I'm seeing whether I ought to begin a new adventure, or just have people join in the 18th-level game I'm currently running (which will probably not be the case, especially if you're new to D&D). Above all, I expect you to have a good idea of character background and development- I don't expect people to play Joe the Fighter who adventures for no reason. If you have a character concept that doesn't quite mesh with the standard rules (such as you want to play a monster race), we'll talk (though such involves some special stuff done on both the DM and player's part). EDIT: Oh, and all who are interested in playing, make sure you read the alignment section- ESPECIALLY if you want to play a paladin. I allow virtually any race if you can roleplay it, as well as any alignment.

I don't expect you to memorize them or anything. Just glancing through and getting an idea as to what stuff involves your class, how skills and feats work, and how combat gets run is the major thing (heck, I look up rules for some aspects of combat every now and then). Beyond that, just form a character concept, background, and motivations/goals for yourself, and you'll be good to go!
EDIT: We're likely switching the group time, so tell me what times are good for you, and I'll see what's good for everyone. Friday and Saturday just won't work (I play in two games on those nights). Likely, we'll do a session once a week that'll last several hours (4-6) that'll have some breaks and whatnot.

I don't have my old charsheet from the other one but I doubt it would be compatible anywho. I'd be interested, but I'd want it a few hours earlier . . . Maybe 9-1 EST, but that'd be during the summer, if it's before June 20something, I'd need it to be ending at like . . . 11:30-12 est latest. =/ Not much help, I'm afraid.

Certainly. We'll probably do a once a week session that should mesh well with everyone's school and whatnot until it's out. I'm thinking Sunday afternoon, though anyday Monday through Thursday would also work. We'd probably start around 6pm CST and end around 12 or 1 am CST.
As for your old character sheet, it likely won't be used. I'm unsure of the level I'd run for a new adventure, but it will likely be low-level for the benefit of those who haven't played before. I suppose once we've gotten enough players together, we'll decide on what level specifically.

Uhh...would you still happen to have my character sheet from Shiva's D&D RP that never got off the ground, Sleepy? ^_^

Nope, I posted it on the other forums, and that was it. Besides, I'm not running what Shiva was going to, so it makes it unlikely you'll use that character sheet. Are you interested in playing, though?

Yeah, I'm totally interested. I probably will use a character that's almost the same, since I love being the upclose combat type ^_-. I'll need help making it again, though, if it's not a problem.

It's not a problem. I'll help people through character creation if they want (besides, I'll be reviewing all player character sheets to make sure they're done right). My concern is mostly on your character background, motivations, and goals though.
So, we gots three people interested. Another person or two, along with two (and later three) good members of my current group will allow us to have a good group together.
As we're likely going to do once a week, what day (Sunday through Thursday) is best for everyone? Is 5-6 pm CST to 12-1 am CST good on said day?

Err . . . so it couldn't be split up into like, two 3-hour sessions over the course of the week . . . =/ I don't know if I could be there the entire time every time . . . 4cst-8cst would be okay for me though I'd have dinner randomly between 5 and 8cst, sometimes later- Cause dinner is when I start eating so my parents start making food >_>
Except on a Sunday, which I'm essentially free for.
