OOC: Generally, forum RPs don't work that well with many people. Perhaps once this gets running, a slot will open up . . . I'd prefer people that frequently visit the boards and will stick with the RP, and I don't really know you well enough to make a decision about what you're like and if you're a good RPer, but like I said, once it gets going, there will be a slot open, I promise. The story WILL change with the influence of the other RPers, but I feel that I can generally keep it going in a certain direction.

Layne was suprised when he heard the amount. He sighed outwardly and said in a sarcastic tone as he rolled his eyes, "This will be so fun.."

(OOC: Without further ado, lets get moving!)
Alex quickly checked over his weapon to make sure it was properly loaded. "Right then," he said with no expression on his face, "Let's get down to business." The group headed to the target area with no complications.
Once they'd arrived (more or less), Alex turned to Rolin. "Pop quiz, scholar boy," he told the younger man. "How does one track our pray?"

"Hehehe...so who's cranky now?" Kalvin chuckled.
"Anyways, Rolin's right. Let's get moving."

"Heh, I was getting to that . . . " Rolin said, almost jokingly.
"There's no need to move from this place" Rolin began. "There's a small wooden platform in that tree over there," Rolin points to the tree and continues on " from which Alexander and myself will be lookouts. You guys will have to boost us up there, I made sure to pick a tree that would be a pain in the ass to get up to. Kalvin, you're our bait." Rolin smiled slyly. "You get the great job of looking nice and tasty for our little friends. I would do it myself, but you're the one with the nice big axe that can actually do something to them, and you're bigger anyway."
Rolin turned to his left. "L-R, you're Kalvin's backup. Rippers tend to sit still like good little prey and eye their victims to make sure that they aren't a threat before attacking. You've got the nifty job of nailing them before they get to Kalvin. You could say that the size of the bolt DOES matter in this case." Rolin chuckled. He knew that monsters like rippers wouldn't fall to the standard-sized bolts that Alexander and himself used unless they were riddled with them or if a lucky enough shot was placed to find its way to an organ or major joint.
Rolin grabbed rather large beaker from his belt and uncapped it, waving his hand to blow away the smell. "Blood, I forget from what. Everyone knows that rippers like everything to be bloody, so it should attract them, right?" Rolin said, as he began splash small bits of it onto the ground around them. He walked around and continued with his work, and called back to the group. "Let's get a fire going somewhere in this little clearing, and get our job done. And this place had better find use, I spent hours scouting out this area and planning everything."
Rolin finished pouring the blood around the small clearing. He tossed it onto the ground, and walked over to the group. They seemed . . . dumbfounded, almost. "Hey, you think I like this plan? Don't worry, Kalvin, you get killed and drinks are on me." Rolin chuckled heartily, expecting the others to get the joke.

Layne luaghed his quiet laugh and loaded his large his cross bow. "So about 10 bolts per ripper.. ugh.. I'm short about 20." Then he remembered his gun and daggers.

"You won't be alone," Alex assured Layne in a neutral tone. "The four of us should be able to handle them, no problem. Plus two can easy pin one down and slit their throats if necessary."

"Remember, run around in circles screaming like a little girl if you think that you're about to die." Rolin said, with a smile.
Rolin looked around the area, and became nervous; It was obvious from the look on his face. It was usually stone cold, but anyone could see that he was worried in this place. "Let's get set up, we're supposed to be catching THEM off guard, not the other way around."

System.out.ooc("No clue, I think BMZ went AWOL lol");
String post = new String();
Rolin looks around. He's sweating at this point, and jogs briskly over to the tree with that platform, dragging Alexander (ooc: im just speedin up things guys) along. He boosts Alexander onto a branch from which he pulls up Rolin, and they climb to the platform. Both take out their weapons, redied.
Layne moved to his position in the bushes and Kalvin set a fire in the middle of the clearing doused with blood. The air grew cold and tense . . . Roars could be heard- Bone chilling howls that could be mistaken as taken from the depths of hell itself quickened in rapidness and loudness; Closer, the enemy drew, with each moment another breath towards their last.
There was a cold silence that settled upon the clearing, when finally . . .
A ripper creeped out of the bushes, slowly walking towards Kalvin, eyeing it's prey, ever watchful . . .
Rolin raised his weapon slightly and looked around for others, but only the one would show itself.
"This doesn't make sense . . . " he muttered under his breath.
With a yelp, a shadow lept upon Rolin, sending him straight through the wooden platform, and following him to the ground. Rolin rolled off to the side, and tried to aim his crossbow- He was shaken up, and couldnt see straight. A few bolts fired off, silently, to the backdrop of a howl from the beast in front of him. It gagged, coughed up blood, and slowly fell to its side. Rolin stood up, trying to catch up with himself.

Another creeped out right near Layne. It was alittle to near for comfort but Layne aimed and shot. Seven of the ten bolts appeared in the Ripper's side. Layne could hear two others creeping nearby.

Alex dove from his hiding place onto a Ripper and quickly drove his blades into the creature's flesh. It roared in pain, but was still alive. The one Layne had shot slowly rose, but Alex drove his blade into the skull. The one he'd jumped on suddenly became violent and flung him off its back. Alex quickly rose his feet and readied his bow-

Snarling, Kalvin stares down the ripper that had come for him. After a moment, he dashed forward, sweeping his axe in an upwards arc. The beast leapt out of the way, but only partially, one of its legs struck the blade. The creature hit the ground, but regained its balance sooner than Kalvin expected and leapt upon him. It knocked him to the ground, and he rolled to the side, the ripper's jaws closing onto the air where his neck had been a moment earlier. He leapt to his feet, and swiftly brough the axe down on the beast, crushing its spine. <One down. Kalvin thought to himself. Nine to go.>
