Valik walked with Rudolf along the well travelled path that lead to their destination in silence for a few minutes. Valik was tense. Soon the Great Forest of Lumini would stretch across the horizon. Valik wasn't that keen to go there, but it was the quickest route. "We best be on guard once in the forest," he said as he walked. "You've heard the stories. Who knows what's really in there."

"Hmph." Rudolf nods. On their way to the Lumini Forest, they encounter a Red Wolf. "Valik. Are you ready?"

Valik smiled. "Leave this creature to me," he said as he readied his Glaive. The wolf leaped, and so did Valik. However, the wolf hit him in the chest and knockedhim to the ground, but Valik kicked it off him and swung his Glaive, drawing blood.

Rudolf observed Valik's fighting skills while not interfering, just like Valik asked. A little concerned about Valik's health, but still, he didn't interfere.

The wolf had a cut along it's left side, but showed hardly any discomfort. It charged, jaws open. Valik blocked using his spear and the wolve's teeth closed around the center of the shaft. Valik drove his knee into the beast's throat, knocking it loose, prompting Valik to drive his weapon into its heart. A pool of blood now soaked the ground. Valik laughed. "I've still got it," he said as he pulled his weapon free.

"Hmph. Not bad. You're powerful, but speed isn't your strong side. Come on. It's been a few hours since we left Brinaia, and you're injured. Let's get some rest."

Valik knew better than to disagree. He sat down and cleaned the claw scratches on his chest. They were now only a short distance from the forest, and Valik was uneasy. Rudolf had made a fire and Valik found himself drifting off to sleep. Sure enough, he soon did.
Valik woke up a few hours later with a blade at his throat. Opening his eyes, Valik saw that a forest elf was standing over him, a spear in her hand. Rudolf was covered by one with a short bow. Not the best thing to see when you wake up.

"Ha, told you this was not a good idea." Valik said as the Elves were taking them to their master. "How do you think we'll get pass this, Valik?"

The elf with the short bow turned and spoke in an unfamiliar language to his partner. When they arrived at the leaderly figure, both elves withdrew their weapons. The leader rose and said, "Travelers, I am Cernas, protector of this forest. There has been rumors of armed bandits around, and we believed you might have been these bandits. I apoligize for the hostility. You have been warned, be careful when you sleep." The elves disappeared in the trees, leaving the two alone again.

"Mm. Well that was quick." Rudolf said. "Keep your guard up, eh? Let's go."

Valik grinned. "My guard's always up," he said with a kind of leer on his face. "But you know, it was too bad they didn't take us captive. I wouldn't of minded..." The two began to walk, with Rudolf shaking his head.
It was barely an hour later by Valik's estimations when they came across a small clearing. A large collection of white flowers had bloomed in this area. If not for the knight in bright red armor fighting a group of elves, the sight would have been one of the most beautiful areas Valik had ever seen. The knight had two arrows sticking out of his chestplate, but showed no discomfort. The shadows made by his helmet made it imposssible to see his face except for his glowing yellow eyes.

Rudolf, who hasn't battled even once since they started their journey, has been standing, again, watching the battle. "Don't move." said Rudolf to his friend Valik.
There were 7 elves fighting the Knight. The knight showed no blood. They were attacking him, but he didn't even try to evade. Once one of the Elves shoot an arrow to the knight's chest, the knight swung his sword, cutting half the heads of 4 of the Elves. Valik closed his eyes, while Rudolf watched closely.

"Such a waste," Valik mumbled. He opened his eyes again. The remaining three elves were keeping their distance and firing arrows, but they either failed to pierce his thick armor or cause him to slow down. Luckily the knight could only lumber, not run or speed-walk, in his heavy armor.

"This is not our battle. We should move on now."

"What are you men, cowards?" said a familiar voice from behind them. Cernas emerged from the woods and ran towards the Knight. He jumped, landed a flying kick on the chest, and then quickly slashed at the arm with his longsword, removing it.
Black Mist began to emerge from the hole in the Knight's shoulder. Sure enough, the mist began to from a new arm.
"It's an undead! Victory will be difficult..."
