Does anyone have UT2K3 (Unreal Tournament 2003) and plays online? I got it a few weeks ago after watching a friend play an amazing 350 kill game (his best yet. about 300 of them were snipes, and around 100 of those snipes were head shots, he's incredible at it). I usually play offline, because when I'm online I get severely pwn3d. But, if anyone here plays, I'd love to have a game every once in a while.

*shudders*
Truly, I despise that game. I wonder how it became so popular, I truly do. I really find it extremely boring . . . On a server where on my first day after beating 4th-5th level bots or something, I kicked everyone's asses (about 30-10 each round) except for this one veteran who apparently was in some highly ranked clan.
Why do I hate this game? Because the people that have been bashing it all along are right . . . It takes no skill. At least Unreal Tournament takes SOME skill. I felt like I was playing TFC with everyone having the speed of a scout and 3x the health of the heavy weapons, only I didn't have to watch out for spies, and I wasn't restricted to one weapon per class.
I mean, seriously, if you get a Bio Rifle, then you can guarantee a kill on any enemy and any enemy even remotely near them using the secondary fire . . . It wasn't ANYWHERE near THAT good in Unreal Tournament . . .

Online games are basically button mashes, from what I've seen. That's why I rarely play, because people don't give you any chances, they just run in and waste you.
Besides, people rarely use the Bio Rifles secondary weapon, because it takes to long to charge up and you'll probably get shot before you do.
Offline games are fun, though.

I've played on 30-man servers, and I RARELY get shot when charging. It doesn't take nearly as long as it did in Unreal Tournament, in which case you were screwed if you even had the d**ned thing out.
You don't charge in the middle of a fight, if that's what you're thinking of . . . Only charge if you're not being shot at. It's easy to hide behind a tree that barely blocks you from the vision of others, but funny enough, the game is so fast-paced that noone bothers to look closely at anything and anyone camping at any time can easily go unnoticed.
I've yet to kill someone in Unreal Tournament/2003 with the secondary shot from the Flak Cannon. Maybe it's just me?
