Let's hear it. We're talking Super Mario Bros so pick something from the Bros. games.
I would have to say Super Mario Bros. 2 was the best. A selection of characters, great stages, some of the best baddies and a cool dream story.
Can't forget the Trouters (Squigly Fish)!!

Super Mario World. A huge world and plenty of power-ups including our pal Yoshi!

Super Mario World was great. Endless hours of fun. Great animation and gameplay, it really launched the SNES with a bang.

I really liked Super Mario Bros. 3. The massive worlds and seemingly endless play was too much. Not to mention the awesome Frog Suit.

#2: Super Mario Bros. The lost Levels (aka Super Mario Bros 2 for those of you who thought that Doki-Doki Panic actually counted as the real sequel)

I'd have to go with Super Mario World: huge game, graphics that IMO still stand up today (then again, I am stuck in the past ) , an evident "adventure" feel to it, and I loved the fact that you could go back into levels, and uncover things that you didn't the first time you went it. It was just fantastic. I just realised, however, that we're talking about Bros. games ^_^. In that case, my fave Bros. game is the very first, because it was simple. cute fun.

Lost Levels was a nice challenge and had some all out craziness.
I consider Super Mario World as a part of the Bros. games. I'm just excluding Mario 64, Mario RPG, Paper Mario, Mario Kart, Super Mario Sunshine and etc. The Mario games.

..I enjoyed Super Mario World, but I think Paper Mario should just have an honorable mention as well. It was very well done, and very enjoyable..

Mario RPG isn't a particularly good RPG, but it's a good enough Mario game ^_^ Super Mario Bros 3 ... first Mario Bros game I ever played, and it had me HOOKED. Look at the name -- Super Mario Brothers Three - enough said, just from the title.
