The last rpg game I was working on was deleted due to a virus.
So I just started making a new game, but not with rm2k3! I decided to go back to rm2k and make as action-rpg.
Tell me what you think.
Name:Call of the Würm
Story: For thousands of years, The legendary Würm of Vaküsh has watched over the lands of Alundar.
The Dragon is the gatekeeper of worlds. It makes sure the land of mortals, and the land of the gods
do not come between each other. It was put there by Amüri, goddess of order, after the Lands of Alundar (Realm of mortals)
and Vaküsh (The Divine Realm) Began to merge as one. Amüri could not allow this, for if that were to happen,
Gods would then be mortal, and men would be gods.
The Gods were responsible, and would not be tempted by greed or malice. However, men are greedy, unresponsible, and power-hungry,
and if they were to become gods, the universe would slip into oblivion. For this reason, Amüri created the Ancient Würm with four peices of her body.
A strand of her hair as the dragon's long tail. A piece of her fingernail as the dragon's hard scales. A piece of her beautiful skin as the dragon's large wings.
And finally, a part of her heart to serve as the dragon's. Upon doing this, she brought the Würm to life using her magic, and sent the dragon to the highest peak of
Alundar, Mount Laridia, where it was to hold the two worlds apart to prevent them from fusing together.
Millenias have passed. For years, there has been a cult named the Darheed, who do not worship one god, but themselves. They beleive that the gods of Vaküsh have sat too long on their Thrones, drinking from their golden goblets, and eating their large meals, while all along men have suffered in the lands of Alundar.
In the ancient books of the Darheed it is written, that if one were to destroy the Sacred Würm who holds the universes apart, that they would then merge with Vaküsh, creating the fabled lands of Vakra, where the Gods would then be their slaves, and all of men would be their masters. They have now set out to do this.
The Dragon has forseen this, and for years, has been calling out for someone brave enough, someone strong enough, to answer. Who will heed, the Call of the Würm?
Main Races of Alundar:Elves: These people are said to be the oldest race in the lands of Alundar. They are tall and fair, with pale skin and golden hair. The average lifespan of an Elf in 346 to 500 years.
They are the makers of many fine goods. An elven sword is said to be the strongest kind in all the land.
Humans: These people apeared after the elves. They are are like elves except usually shorter and less pale. Their average life span is usually about 85 to 100 years. They are greedy and thirst for power.
Dwarves: It is unknown about when these people were created. They are short and fat and usually have very long beards. They are brave in battle and a popular trade for them is the blacksmith. Since they spend most of their time making weapons and other goods, they live near the roots of the mountains.
The largest Dwarf city is "Mangarta", near the roots of Mount Laridia. They worship the Dragon and are said to be the "Children of The Würm", though this is thought to be a myth. They have a life span of about 100 to 150 years.
Orcs: These creatures are a vicious race. They are said to be created around the time when the Würm of Vaküsh first came to live. Not much is known about this race, because not many survive their encounters with them to be able to know anything about their race, other than the fact that they are pure evil.
They are very ugly and their skin is usually greenish, with many blemishes. They are vile creatures. They have conquered many lands.
It is beleived that they were once men, transformed by the God of Evil, Kamin, to do his bidding.
Goblins: These creatures are similar to Orcs, except they are slightly thinner and weaker. They have they have the same lifespan as elves.
Trolls: There are many different kinds of trolls, they're sizes differ, some are the size of a human, but most are huge, around the size of an elephant. They usually live in caves. They're lifespan is around 200 to 300 years.
Dragites: The Dragites are a race of half men, half dragons who live in The Valley of Macrob. They are very wise and tall. They're lifespan is 1000 to 3000 years. They Are usually calm and honourable, but if you agravate them, they can be a worthy foe.
Kobolds: These are small imp-like creatures who are usually very mischeivious. They live in trees in the forests of Alugale and like to confuse traveler's who pass by with their magic. Noone knows much about this race, for they mostly keep themselves hidden.
Dark Elves: The dark elves are the same as normal Elves, with the exception that their skin is darker and their hair is grey. Their eyes usually have no visible pupils and they cannot see well in the light, but they can see wonderfully in the darkness. Many years ago, there was a great war between the two main tribes of elves, The Hanichi tribe, and the Boronide Tribe. They fought over which tribe would have the territory
of the Maleesh plains. The Hanichi, due to having a larger army, chased the Boronides out of their homes and off to the lands beyond the Mountains of the grey dawn, and they were forced to live there. The lands beyond The Mountains of Grey Dawn suffer from lack of sunlight, due to the Mountains always emitting smoke and blocking out the sun when it rises. This has been the cause of the Dark Elves to become what they are. They have always been rivals with normal elves ever since.
Battle System: The Battle System is an action system similar to zelda. It is based on Rusty's Mystic Dreams Battle system. (Of course I'm gonna give him all kinds of credit) But, it is not the exact same thing, because I have fixed it up a little. As in there will be special attacks you can do, and you can equip "Relics" (see Relics section) and Souls (see souls section.).
Magic: There are a couple things which add to the magic system:
1) Souls: The Souls that you collect in the game have special powers which allow you to focus the energy of the elements into your sword. For example: If you obtain the Fire Soul, You can now choose to equip it to your Sword so you can deal Fire damage to your enemies whenever you hit them with your blade. There are certain enemies that can only be killed by certain Elements. So you must equip these elements to be able to destroy these enemies. This will help you to discover secrets and progress into different areas in the game.
a) Normal: This is just your normal blade. You can kill many Neutral Enemies with this. They could live anywhere. Example: Humans.
b) Fire: You can destroy Enemies That have are the element of Ice. They usually live in snowy, or Icy areas. Example: Yeti.
c) Water: You can destroy Enemies that have the element of fire. They usually live in volcanoes or caves. Example: Salamander.
d) Earth: You can Destroy Enemies that have the element of wind. They usually Fly in the air. Example: Vulture.
e) Light: You can Destroy Demonic Creatures or enemies that live in the dark. They usually live in dark places or in the underworld. Example: Shadow
f) Darkness: You can destroy Enemies of the light. They could live anywhere. Example: Sprite
You can also use certain elements to open new passageways and secrets. Or use them as keys.
2) Relics: Sometimes you may come across items called Relics on your quest. You can use these to your advantage by equipping them. These can help protect you from various things, Elements, attacks, it varies with what relic you find. They can also help you learn new special abilities and attacks. Example: If you find the Cape Of Invisibility, you can pass by enemies and they won't even see you.
3) Music: You can find different instruments and learn different songs for each one and you can use this to aid you on your quest. Example: You can find a Flute, and then learn a song from someone, and if you choose to play it, you can discover certain secrets by the song's magic.
well, that's all I have to explain for now, I will update this thread in time. Give me your opinions on this, expecially the Soul Idea. Thanks
