You ever heard of this band? They rock, like cobblestones on a 1776 Philadelphia street. Well, anyways, one of their best songs is most likely "You're Not Alone". Listen to them, they're great punk-- uh, pop-punk-ish. Ah, to hell with that, just go listen to them!!

They've been around for 8 years, so I think they're not going to be unheard of anytime soon...

I think the band kicks most other band's boo-tays. I've listened to them before, I don't really know them that well, but I definetly don't think they suck.
Zheil when did you start listening to them?

Zheil when did you start listening to them? About a few months ago, when I got the Drive-Thru Records DVD. So now they're one of my most favourite bands.

I don't understand how being "pop" affects the quality of music. If a band starts becoming successful and making millions but still produce music of same calibur, a lot of people would probably get mad at them and say that they are "sell-outs" and they are "pop" and that their music sucks. It doesn't make sense. Is it because you are jealous that they have enough money to f**k 10 year old filipino prostitutes and you can't without getting arrested? Hmm...

There's two kinds of pop: pop with singer who primarily want to sing, and pop with singers who primarily want to make money. The first type of pop is actually pretty good (Darius and stuff like that), whereas the second type of pop is quite terrible (anything like your Fast Food Rockers or your Cheeky Girls or whatnot). I'd say that the majority of pop-punk goes into the first category: even if some of the vocalists in these bands have dreadful voices, they're still trying to sing . *Sings "That's What I Go To School For"..

Blake, the whole idea behind "selling out" is that the band changes it's style to suit a more mainstream audience. i.e. tones down swearing, offensive themes, less 'hardcore' sounding music, etc.
Of course, if the bands music style does not change then there's no problem with selling out. I just hate the idea that a band would abandon their old original fans to pursue money. Reel Big Fish both dropped some of their brass section and adopted a less ska sound when they were signed to Jive Records (who also published the BackStreet Boys). The result? Their new album sucks and is nowhere near as good as their old stuff. It doesn't have the same funky upbeat ska sound, it's just generic rock with a tiny bit of brass backing up the choruses.

thats gay.. and Selling out.. is just being a "musician" for money instread of for the art and beauty of it.. most people do not understand that.. but Most people are stupid and have no clue what they are talking about.
bands are sell outs even if they don't try to do something honesty beautiful, true, and possible abit ironic. Any band with the run of the mill lyrics, riffs, and general fill is mostly like a sell out band.. if they're just like that.. then they just suck. Alotta main stream bands are sell outs. Like: Slipknot, "nu-metal" bands, all the new age "punk," and all pop singers. Songs that are like "I love this girl" or "I hate myself and want to die" are pretty lame and most likely the band is a sell out band.. (unless they're being ironic or something like in Nirvana's song "I hate myself and want to die", though you'd have to read the lyrics and interpt all the things like David laughing during the beginning and the fact that it was on the Bevis and Butthead Experience)
