Yet Another Fan Game...

You're all tired of the Fan game posts, I'm sure. But I've been working on mine for quite some time, and figured that I shouldn't post anything about it unless I was sure to come out with a demo soon after. Anyway, the aformentioned game (talked about in my recent posts) is called Legion Saga 2 Gaiden: Quest for Vengeance. I warn you now, it won't be very advanced in terms of coding, but I hope that with my storyline, the dialogue will compensate for any lack of expected features. The story is set roughly 9 years after LS2 (3 years prior to LS3's beggining) when Nastra returns with Fuba from his journey across Beryllusir. The game revolves around a character by the name of "Johan" (A name taken from one of my chat RP characters) who is the grown son of the former leader of the Liberation Army; Jendri. Upon becoming a teen, Johan developed enough intelligence and maturity (as all of us do at one point and time in our lives) to do research on his deceased father. With each peice of information came a rise in the levels of Johan's contempt, until soon he began to despise Nastra. (The reason for this will be revealed in the demo) This synopsis alone is the foundation for what I think will turn out to be a pretty good story, as not only with the game be centered around Johan and Nastra, but new characters will be introduced. As I've said earlier, I am not that great a coder, so this game won't have too many great features. It does have a duel system, and a basic hunting mini-game reminiscent of Breath of Fire 2's (That's IF all goes well.) If I decide to put in large scale wars, it will be like that of Tales of Phantasia, no Suikoden. The total useable characters will probably amount to roughly 9 or 10, that's including secret characters. There will be side-quests, and the maps, although similar in construction to that of LS2's, will be different chips altogether. The battle system is default, however I will throw in various side-view battle animations. As for skills and other techs, orbcraft will be used, as well as various special attacks which will come along with gained levels. I'm going to make my own site based on this game, so as to take the burden off of Kamau's shoulders, and so when that is made, I'll be sure to put up some screenshots. Mind you all that the work I've put into the demo in comparison to what I will put in the full version vary's greatly, so try not to get too discouraged once you play it.

Anyway, at least you sound more intelligent than most of the recent posts here. As for a demo why not delay it till it's at its highest quality and then release?

Sounds like a pretty good story. I would like to know a little more about why he hates Nastra. Is it because he released him or is it because Nastra should have been there to protect Jendri?

To theblakeman, no I'm not a girl. I'm a male. And to the blackmage, I already said how you'll have to play the demo in order to find that out, I'm not gonna be like most new people and give you a summary of a demo that you haven't even played, that'd be a waste of my work. I hope I've got you hooked enough to give it a try, though, haha. In any case, I wanna release the demo as soon as possible before something happens like me having to format my computer because of some stupid virus, or losing my files for some odd reason (something that's happend to so many game creators) And as for continue the creation of the game until it is at it's best level of production, I'd rather not, because then, if I see that some of you are impressed with what's already there, you'll all have something to look forward to as I work on the full version.

So, no Suikoden feel at all. Well lets just see how this will turn out future wise. If you're worried about formatting you're computer, save you're game's progress on a disk or something.

I've already saved a few things on disk, I do that with every bit of progress I make on the game, so I've no worries. As for screenshots, well, they'll have to wait. Right now it's extremely late at night and I haven't the energy to put into uploading them on here. I'll try and get some by tomorrow.

And yes, I have gotten rid of the vast majority of the Suikoden feel of the game so as to set it apart from the original series. This game will be your basic traditional FF/BOF/TOP/Whatever other similar game you can think of type game. The only Suikoden feature that I included were the duels.

Way to wander off topic there Madiun. Anyway, about the demo's release, it COULD be done in a couple of days, but that's not enough time to eradicate all of the little bugs the game has (and I'm sure there's a lot). I'd expect a release in perhaps a week or two, but there's no guarantee.
