I'm working on a fangame called Legion Saga : Michika's Quest. The title is VERY likely to change, and yes, that is Michika, the guy you see for about two minutes in LS1.
I already got this OK'd by Kamau, (it isn't on his site yet, because I'd imagine he's pretty busy with LSR and CoS) but I can tell right now that because of the shortage of battle sprites available, I'm going to need somebody to do graphics. I am horrible at the battle graphics, I've already tried. I don't need completely original sprites, just RTP edits that don't actually look like the RTP character. Just change the hair, the clothes, and there you go. Oh, and eventually, I'll need someone to make a title screen. If you want to do that, just tell me, make the design, but don't put the title on, because I really don't like the title I'm using as of now.
I'm sure you probably aren't going to be too enthusiastic about this game since you haven't seen anything by me before, and I haven't been around for so long. It probably won't be the best of the fangames, but I can almost assure you already that it won't be the worst.
FEATURES:
Instead of running a castle, your base of operations is a big cave. All of your recruited characters will go there, people will open shops there, etc.
When your soldiers die, you have to go to a city and hire some more.
The war system is similiar to the one in Suikoden II. So, instead of walking forward for half an hour, hitting the enemy once, and winning the battle, this one will actually require a bit of strategy.
Every status effect has it's own graphic. (Don't worry graphic artists, I'll do those.) For example, when you are afflicted with haste, your character is outlined in red, like on FF6.
When you stay in an Inn or Hotel, you will be able to eat dinner before you go to bed, like on Grandia. While eating, you will be able to converse with the other characters like at the banquet on LS3.
There will be an orbcraft system just like the one from LS2, but there are new types of White and Black Orbs. There is no armor. You will also get Influential Orbs, like the Jugodin Orb.
The blacksmith system will be similiar to that of Suikoden II. If you have a level 1 weapon, and you take it in, it will be very cheap to upgrade, and will upgrade a little more than it did on LS3. The higher your weapon's level is, the more the upgrade cost will be.
You will also be able to upgrade armor in the same manner at a blacksmith shop. You never actually equip the armor, but it's there.
There is a load of accessories that do different things. Some raise stats, some prevent critical hits or terrain damage, some prevent bad status effects, some inflict good status effects (Such as the Regen Ring, which gradually recovers HP when equipped), some raise your resistance to a certain element. There will be rare accessories as well as rare orbs. Rare accessories do things such as the Fear Ring, which scares all monsters away, preventing random combat.
There will be over twenty sidequests. Like on the Final Fantasy games, some sidequests are to develop your characters more, and every sidequest ends with a reward.
There will be at least ten endings. Every little thing you do will change the ending.
RETURNING CHARACTERS:
Vista: She is an optional character. If you go to the Champion's Arena during your first visit to Krisdea and talk to her, you'll recruit her when going back to Veramonde from Chiopu.
Granstem: Kaiser Granstem is still ruling Veramonde. He sends Michika on a mission to Meluvet and makes his friend, Hollie, one of his farm slaves.
Argane: Upon returning to Veramonde after King Meluvet is killed, Argane has taken the throne.
Gatz: You meet this insane clown in the Nagura Inn. I haven't decided if he'll be recruitable or not.
Azamine: Still runs the orbcraft shop in Chirsten.
Ryoko: Uhh... Can't really say because it'd be a big spoiler.
Ridman, Shotan, Eva, and Pasz: You fight these four at the Mount Glaum refuelling station, while defending it for Lord Garalas.
That's all of the returning characters determined so far... Anyway, a demo will be out somewhere near the end of this year or the beginning of next. This game should appear in the next update to the fangames section.
Any questions, responses, anything?
Edit: Oh yeah, and once I get some more done, i'll put up some screenshots.
Edit #2: Bug testers, too! Gotta have bug testers. If anyone wants to do that, tell me.
