SH tries too hard to be a movie.
I dunno if it was a bad game I watched or a bad movie I palyed.

RE seemed more like a bad movie to me.SH didn't try to be a movie,I saw the interview with the team who developped SH.
Oh and about the virus thing, yes,I know the backstory, but look at the zombie factor, seriously, they are decomposing,a single punch would finish them. And like I said, the fact that everyone can do something is NOT a good argument. SH is a lot scarier then RE,you can't get around that, and everyone I know agrees with me,the only ones who don't are those who never played SH,Clock Tower 3,Fatal Frame(suck but scary) and such.

Farting Hamster or whatever your name is, have you even played Silent Hill 3? It sounds as if you havent.
Oh come on, there was too much gameplay in Silent Hill 3 to call it a movie! Even if it was a movie it was a pretty d**n good one.

Ricky you really dont hafta start pulling in the insults (which proves what little argument you have : It seems FireKnight is the only one here who is actually up for an intelligent debate. I'm done here, we're obviously not changing anyone's opinions.

..Meh, whatever, anyway, I'm hardly a fanboy; I've only played SH3. If anything, I should be a fanboy for the RE series, since the only game I haven't beaten in the series is RE (Got bored of it) and the GC game (I don't own a GC)besides those seemingly crappy FPS ones, but I'd love to buy one as soon as possible just so I can prove you wrong.
Also, I usually like my games in Normal mode; not too easy, not too difficult, and the RE games were no exception.
Oh, my god, how could I forget that TERRIBLE control scheme the RE games seem to always have. Anyway, you might be stubburn, or I might be, and where both correct in our views; one way or the other. So that's that..and hopefully, the next RE game'll have characters that aren't so predictable. I mean, my god, who's going to jump into a world of monsters to save their brother? Bah, that might be too much, but I found Heather to be a breath of fresh air from the tried and true, police officer, S.T.A.R.'S members, etc..etc. Now THAT's a realistic character, and I mean, how hard can it be to learn how to use a gun?
That's, hopefully my last two cents on the subject..

Shooting a gun is easy. It's hitting stuff that's hard. If you were suddenly zapped into a demon world and you foudn a gun would you suddenly know how to use it. Plus fear would kick in and fck with your aiming. That's why having stars members makes so much sense. They are TRAINED to handle intense situation like this. A 17 year old girl who is nothing more than a mallrat? Yea... maybe she could learn slowly (which would've been cool and would make us relate to her more) like practice by shooting at a can, but as it stands that makes no sense.

Well,Harry(Harris? Not too sure since it's been long since I played SH1) did have trouble aiming in the first Silent Hill,I had to wait till the monster approach before I could shoot him correctly, shoot from a distance in SH1 was just harder since he's not skilled with a gun. As for Heather, well, learning how to use one is a matter of seconds,it's not hard to use a gun, though it's true that she wouldn't have been able to aim correctly because of fear, but she was still more believable over the rest, though I don't think she would have taken the time to practise, she would most likely conserves ammos there. And I think that even with their training stars members would surely have been really scared in reality, giving them a few troubles aiming and all, since giant tarantulas, giant hornets, zombies, licker and whatever strange things they encounter were not part of their training, don't you think?

I think action movies have given you the wrong impression of firearms. There are many things unaccounted for like a little somethin I call recoil. If it were so easy to use and aim a gun there would be a LOT more school shootings.

No,I don't believe what is in action movies unless it really is reality that has been filmed.
It IS very easy to use a gun,if you can aim correctly with anything then you can aim right with a gun.Sorry, but I don't know what you mean by recoil cause I'm not english. Beside, maybe Heather could have practised with a gun a while before it happen?

Dude she grew up in white suburbia and is a mallrat. Why would she need to practice with a firearm? She doesnt live in the projects.
Plus if she had wouldnt the game cover this point? GG

And by recoil, FH means how people get pushed back when they fire a gun, like how Claire and Leon are pushed back when they fire a bazooka or rocket launcher..

Okay OKAY! Break it ups, whether ye be fanboy or not.
Resident Evil has an easier-to-follow story and is easier to pick up and play, but it's more action packed and cool than it is scary.
Silent Hill is creepy. It touches your senses and makes you paranoid. It does what it wants very well. It's a lot scarier than RE, but the plots are often jumbled.
As for characters, Silent Hill touches more on our flaws as human beings than RE does. RE has characters that are likable albeit cliche at times.
Both games have their strong points and their weaknesses. FlyingHamsta, shut up, and stop calling people fanboys. It's classic for a fanboy to do that. I have a GC and a PS2 and I like Silent Hill much more than RE. So shut up, you have no idea what you're talking about. As for everyone else, stop arguing.
