Genre: RPG

Plot: "Thousands of years into the future, mankind has abandoned earth and exists only in deep space. Having used their advanced technology to unlock the secrets of the universe, humanity hopes to do the same with the Zohar, a powerful and mysterious artifact reputedly existing since the dawn of time. But a hostile alien life form, the Gnosis, brutally attack at every turn. Why? Unbeknownst to mankind, the racee to unlock the final mysteru, and to embrace an uncertain destiny, has begun." - The Story
I enjoyed the plot because it was easy to follow and had many twists and turns. Xenosaga takes place in the future when spacecrafts roamed outer space. Each character had and fit their own personalities which made the story run by smoothly. I liked the idea of having Gnosis aside from normal enemies, such as Guards or Machines. Gnosis are the enemies that are the "alien life forms" and deadly to the touch, they're powerful. Throughout the game you meet new characters, some good, some evil, and that helped the plot a lot, not just a small cast. The enemies played good roles, especially Albedo, he fit a "bad guy" role very nicely. I rate the Plot 10/10
Graphics: Superb. The graphics design in Xenosaga were spectacular. Each character, human, machine, and Gnosis, had excellent looks to them and fit perfectly in the game. The battle animations were also great and although they were a little long at times, their look was worth it. The maps were made beautifully and I loved the cinematic events, that was the best part. Throughout the game you watch cinematic events that are extremely cool. Of course you do not have to watch each scene, you can press triangle and it will skip, but I suggest watching them. I rate the Graphics 10/10
Audio: The Audio in Xenosaga was not at all the greatest, in fact it was very lame. Many of the audio songs I thought were horrible and not worth having in the game. I am not even going to waste my time filling out this slot because it is just pointless. I rate the Audio 4.5/10
Gameplay: Now it gets interesting, the gameplay factor is the best part of this game. Although over half of the game is cinemas and you cannot control them the other half you do control is remarkable. In Quest Mode, you roam around on a map like in any other RPG. However, you can also blow up map items such as boxes and shelves, and inside you can find items. But be careful, you may also run into enemies inside objects! The gameplay level is so fun and exciting, if you like futuristic games, you'll love Xenosaga. You can run and walk in the field and sometimes if you walk you can pass Gnosis without being seen and you would not have to fight them. But at many times you need to fight every battle you can because you need to achive high levels to defeat certain bosses. Each character can change how the story goes as far as sidequests. In certains areas of the game you can find secret bosses and weapons but you need to have a certain character in the lead of the party, and you can switch them in your Battle Formation menu.
Xenosaga does have a Side View Battle System with a bunch of different commands. There is a little guage to determine whos turn it is and you can use a command called "Boost" which will allow that player to cut in line and attack next. You earn T, E, and S points which are all used to help you. Tech (T) points increase your stats, Ether (E) points learn new spells, and Skill (S) points extract skills from items.
