To me, love is a lot of things. At its core, love is this very strong feeling of attachment to someone. Loving someone is not beleiving they are perfect; it is knowing, recognizing, and accepting all of their aspects, including flaws. When you love someone, you feel it, and it's a wonderful feeling, because it leaves you vulnerable, which makes good things all the better.. and even bad things much worse. It's letting down your defenses. You can blame it all on hormones or say it's not "real", but when you feel it, you really can't deny it's there, no matter its origin.

"Love"- a chemical reaction in the brain of a being to create desire for another of the same species, and in turn facilitate reproduction. See "heat"
I must admit, I've been in "love" numerous times, and currently in "love" with someone, despite being disenfrachised with the whole concept. Our culture, being as advanced as it is, has put "love" on a much higher pedestal tha it actually deserves to be on.

I fully intended to stay out of this topic, but whatever..
As the majority of you know, I don't just look at people and see flesh covering bones protecting organs that produce chemical reactions that are our life. I believe that we each have a soul and that such is the source of love. I don't buy into the idea that love is just a strong mental attraction to another object or being simply because I've seen people with strong attractions attempt relationships without love and watched them fail. But the vast majority of those I've seen founded on love have stood the test of time.
And when you discuss love, you must also consider that it is not always between two people interested in an intimate relationship. Consider the love between parents and children. between siblings, and between friends.

Now we enter another definition of love, which is the grouping together of people due to emotional attachments and survival. A perfect example of this is the camraderie shared by soldiers in combat, or also the attachment between parent and child.
