If you ask me its stupid and it shows how little of a grasp you have of the english language.

Sometimes cursing can show a great deal of emotion. Most of the time however, cursing does show stupidity and ignorance.
I use "mild" curses almost commonplace, but I've forgotten the last time I used a more violent word. If I have to, I keep it to myself.

There are three reasons people swear:
1) Something bad has happened and the person wants to relieve himself/herself of stress by shouting out filthy language. This is the only half decent reason for saying the words, but people could easily just shout "Sugar!" or even something like "Gumballs!" and it would do just as good.
2) They feel tough/clever/popular by using words that that others do not want to hear. - These people are called idiots. These people are called Townies/Trendies. (Not RPG Townies just so you know)
3) They use them as insults. (An example would be "Ah I f*cked your mom last night!") - People who do this are normally quite dim and cannot think of anything witty to say. These people are called Townies/Trendies. (Not RPG Townies just so you know)
As for me, I don't curse ever. I use words like "Sugar" (Not gumballs though)

When someone does something to me that really pisses me off, I only think "That son of a pregnant dog...". Does that count?

Cursing eh? I curse heaps but not the swearing type of cursing.
I only swear if I happen to damge a vulnerable part of my body. Concerning other people though, there are plenty other interesting and witty ways one may insult someone.

I tend to curse now and then to emphasize a point.

Well, I would never curse someone -- for example, I wouldn't call some a 'Sh*t eater' or something like that. I will sometimes use the odd word every now and again, but it's usually 'b*stard' or 'sh*t'. But as for swearing a lot - like I said, I only do it on these occasions: (1) I hurt myself very badly (2) it's hilariously funny (so when it comes to 2 - never )

Normally I don't go past "d**n" or "hell." I'm not old enough.

Personally, I think cursing/cussing/swearing is idiotic. I've never come in contact with a situation where cursing was necessary and still don't know of one. Someone cursing really gives them points in the Lack o' Intelligence level for me.

Sometimes swearing could be used to reassure someone in a certain position that the mood is informal. If you use mild words to talk to someone (to describe something else) in a friendly context, then it could reassure them (I like to bugger people around like this ^_^). I'm not too fond of using curses as insults though, unless the intention is one of aforementioned informality (I'm in form today ) and is to provoke an amused reaction. Anything with the intention of insulting however has been done a million times before. A witty comeback is always much more entertaining.

I curse sometimes, but usually make due with comments about working at McDonalds for the rest of your life when I insult someone.
