Our good friend Piratemaster has allowed us to be temporarily or permanently hosted with his server for free. While this isn't as great as rpg-palace.com, it is a wonderful temporary solution, and my primary goals are to restore the old forum with our temporary host. He has given us unlimited databases, and I am going to shortly request that one be set aside for the forums, allowing us to restore them fully. This should not be a problem, however the process may require he cooperates with me. I'm going to test some things out in the following days, and if I can catch him online, I'll see what I can do about restoring the old forums database. Members will experience a slight rollback, as my backup will restore us to how we were about a week before the site went down. While this isn't a surefire solution, it is a great step forward, because cogsprocket has vanished, and Maxy is still setting up his internet connection. Within the following several days, I will be recording my progress here, so keep a lookout!

I've been faced with a major problem: Invisionboard is no longer free to use. While we can always attempt to illegally get our hands on a copy, I'm not sure if it would be that easy. Jacket has suggested an invisionfree, but when we finally get the domain back, we want forums on site so we can get the most out of them. We could do the following:
1. Use Invisionfree and start over. You cannot restore databases to Invisionfree
2. Use a new forum service, something like phpbb or so.
3. Find a pirated copy of IPB 2.0, however this may prove difficult to do.
Each one has their ups and downs.

It should still be free to download it and use it under the trial license, but the download is missing for whatever reason. I had downloaded the 2.0 final release when it was first released, and i've uploaded it for you. rpgdn.net/~flik/junk/2p0p0.zip

Well, I just want a place to call home. We should get a temporary solution before we start making any long term plans. I believe that we could get that pirated version... >.> <.< My friend could host it if he is willing to give up his domain, forum, and his entire website. He doesn't want it anymore. Only if we could change the domain name. ROG Town on www.Justinweb.com would be a bit strange. Just my opinion though. I could convince him. Maybe.

Why don't you just use Invision 1.3? It's still free at the moment and has a lot more community support then 2.0

I suggest simply starting anew with a clean phpbb board. I find those boards to be very easy to use, from both an administrator's and regular member's point of view. I find the other options result in having to go through too many "shortcuts." We're in need of something stable, something complete. Again, I strongly suggest a new PhpBB board, regardless of the difficulty it'll take to make one.

I'll do my best to restore the database by this Sunday. Our database isn't compatible with 1.3.
