Wow.
Well, as most of you don't know, I've been working at a YMCA camp for the past 4 weeks, and this coming week will be my last. Thankfully I managed to come home to my grandparents house for the weekend, and here I am on their 28.5k laptop, attemping to make a relevant post.
For those of you who HAVEN"T worked at a summer camp, it turns out that you actually have to interact with kids, which is bad if you hate them. Not to say that I HATE kids, but I'm not sayin I like them either.
First 2 weeks I worked with the 7 year olds, during which that time, I finally comfirmed that it is in fact very possible that you CAN miss the toilet while taking a "number 2".
3rd week I worked with seniors aka the 14 year olds, which was interesting. These guys have little respect for anyone, and will steal your food whenever given the chance. One kid got so bad that I had to flag pole him (ducktape him to the flagpole) at 4 in the morning. I lost some sleep, but I'd have to say it was worth it.
This past week I worked with the 7 year olds again. It was pretty uneventful, until Thursday when the girls for the neighboring camp came over for a carnival. I was running the dunking booth, which involves throwing baseballs. For those of who haven't seen the sun in 5 days, baseballs are HARD, and when thrown at the back of a head, it CAN HURT. I learned the hard way, when a 9 (yes...9....) year old girl chucked a baseball at the back of mah noggin, rendering me unconcious for about 11 seconds.
No, I'm not kidding.
Anywho, I'll post more about about it later next weekend when I get home. Speaking of which, expect more comics when I get back as well. I've been spending the majority of my free time sketching, giving me room to improve. With it being summer I'll probably be able to release em on a weekly basis.
See ya.
