Does anyone know what this problem means? I have tried a lot of things but to no avail. If anyone could help it'd be great.

It means what it says. Either:
a. you're using a file format other than png or bmp
or
b. your image is not the correct size. To bypass this, directly import it into the folder and not through the editor.
