3D: - Banjo Kazooie; - Super Mario 64; - Gex: Enter the Gecko (please don't hurt me).
Conker'd be in there if that counts, too. I could never get into Donkey Kong 64, it was too big and daunting and I didn't like it. Banjo Tooie was similiar, although that was more fun because you didn't keep having to change Kong.
2D: - The Lost Vikings (it counts, doesn't it?); - Super Mario World; - Superfrog (if I can get hold of the bugger again that is).
There's more 2D platformers that I like than 3D.

Ratchet and Clank would probably be my favorite. Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando looks freaking awesome so that'll probably be my favorite. Also, Whiplash looks pretty cool. I don't really have a favorite 2D one. Mario, I guess .

Yeah, Contra's a platformer. Devil May Cry isn't though.

yes it is... most of that game (when you're not just killing things) is jumping on platforms.
and thats all platform games are.. just jumping and killing.. with the occionally puzzle or really hard jump or tough enemy..
hmm.. though would the Metroid series (the 1st 4.) be platform.. I'm guessing yes..

I heard somewhere that Microsoft didn't want Rare making anymore BK style games...I suppose they don't want to gain the kind of reputation for kiddy games that Nintendo has...

Tim, I thought you would have said Metal Slug! That game rawks. 1. Super Mario World (I think? The one with Yoshi) 2. Lion King 3. Megaman X I don't like 3D platformers. Sellouts.
