Hey, this game called "Unlimited Saga" for the ps2 just arrived at our local games shop, and looking at the back of it, i thought it looked quite good. Unfortunally/Fortunally I didnt have the money, so didnt buy it.
Anyway, when I told my freinds I was planning on getting it, the laughed and said it was supposedly unbelievibly repeditive. So, basically, im looking for advice. Is Unlimited Saga any good?

I'm not quite sure. But what I do when I'm not sure about a game is rent it. Like with the new Zelda game, Wind Waker. It looked kinda iffy, so I rented it and found out it was crap. By renting it, I save myself 50 bucks. So I suggest you do the same with Unlimited Saga and rent it first. From what I heard, however, it's insanly hard with little replay value. But then again, that's only what I heard.

I was thinking of getting it when it came out.
If you want a 'Europe Exclusive' FFX-2 Demo, and a new coaster, then get it. I've just seen bad reviews and recommendations to gaming masochists. Apparently, it's also very confusing and entirely 2D.

Like with the new Zelda game, Wind Waker. It looked kinda iffy, so I rented it and found out it was crap. Zelda the windwaker was not crap. The graphics are actually better as cartoons. Try playing it for more than 5 min. and you will see.

More people hate it (and be hate I mean think it's one of the worst games they have played) but I for one got some value in it. Unlike most story heavy RPGs that come out today, USaga is more of a light, pick up and play RPG. It's actually more similair to Dungeons and Dragons then other Console RPGs, so be beware. I would recommend a rent first.

I played that game for more than 5 minutes, mind you. I played that game for about 15 HOURS! I hated it. I have never played a more tedious game in my entire life. And I think that I can say this because I have been a Zelda fan since it first came out on the NES. It was the most disapointing game I've ever played.
But to avoid buying a game that aggrivates you so, that's why you rent them first if you have any doubts.

If you did play Wind Waker for 15 hours, then why do you hate it if you played it for so long? Usually cases like that mean you're addicted to it. Usually. EDIT: Liquid, you shouldn't even rent Unlimited SaGa. The only good thing in it is the artwork. The rest just goes to crap.

That was the main problem. The more I played it, the more I became infuriated with it. One tedious event after another, predictable story events, Link looking like a mutant beach ball, and other things that just annoyed me to no great end. I just hated the game, it was one of the biggest disapointing sequels I have ever come across

The offical playstation 2 magazine gave Unlimited Saga 7/10, quite a good scorec considering they're quite harsh on RPGs. I mean, cmon, they gave Wild ARMs 3 5/10, and I love/d Wild ARMs 3. Also, it looks a bit like this game for the ps1 called "The Hunter" so it might be good. Ill try it.

Yeah, I've learned not to trust game magazines. I mean, I used to trust Gamepro until they gave Suikoden II a 2.5 overall, and Suikoden II is one of my favorite games. So I've learned from that: "Don't knock it until you've tried it."

No, I trust the official playstaion 2 magazine, just not with RPGs. All the games I like seem to have got high rating in it, and respectivly, all the games I think suck got low ratings. Anyways, Suikoden 2, 2.5? WTF?!

Anyways, Suikoden 2, 2.5? WTF?! Well, that is bad, but GamePro goes only up to 5.0, but still, Suikoden is just a sleeper hit that not many people think twice about, since it's 2D. Well bah, humf***! It's a great game me and my squirrel friends can go nuttin' with. Yeah, that's right, nuttin'...

Whatever. I dont care if its 2D or not. All the sprites are supposedly hand drawn, which I find rather cool. I liked Saga Fronteir 2, and U SaGa is the sequal, so im getting it tommorow.
