I was bored, so I wrote alist of the rules every generic RPG follows, see if you can add more!!
Rules of an RPG
-Random townspeople seem to know everything. Such as what is in the 'Cave of No Return' or the 'Forest of Despair' -God is evil and must be destroyed. It is your responsibility to do this. You require a crystal to do so. Seven to be exact. -Four is the maximum amount of people who can travel with you. The rest of the party must sit back and watch you fight. The hero should invest in buying an SUV. -The hero has mastered the art of swordfighting. Even if he is an 8-year old boy. And found the sword on the beach. Any violation of this rule earns the game the title of an 'innovative battle system' -Outcasts have a tendancy to join you. -Monsters carry aroung money for some reason. They also get progressively stronger as you move east. -The graphics get bad on the world map. And you can then and only then control the almighty camera. From the angle you view the hero from makes you feel like god. -You must visit the following places at least once in your quest: a forest, a dark forest, a desert, a mausoleum, a tower, a third forest with any kind of lighting, a castle, the castle's dungeon, and a town inhabited by a race other than humans. -A war has had to have taken place precisely 1000 years ago. An ancestor of yours was in that war. -You can travel through time and breathe in space.

Your list is too specific. Not all RPGs allow time travel and some don't even involve space. Not all heroes use swords too. Some games allow three to five members in your party. Four is common, but not always the case. Fix it up a bit please.

No,those are not the kind to be seen in almost all games. Here's what I've seen mostly(note I said mostly): -Most of the bad guys have long hairs -One or two girls in the team most of the time fall in love with the hero -If someone in a town seem different from other peoples, then he'll be either: a) someone who will join you b) a bad guy c) someone important to the story -you have to save the world

Yeah, the huge majority of main heroes do use swords, if not odd variations of them (ie Keyblades, Gunblades).

-the enemy's lackies are either idoits, or rather tough and suprised when/if you beat them.. -everything has a theme, even some lucky characters. -clothes, hair, and such don't get dirty or wet. -people can stay up for days and run for 100s of miles. -often the major character doesn't speak, and the female lead still loves him. -people have natural blue, green, and purple hair.. -main characters are usaully pretty hot.

Hey hey hey! Don't forget: -Heroes NEVER go to the bathroom Unless it somehow boosts the plot. Ever notice how at least one character looks kind of very *friendly* personty?

Here's one: The main character is an idiot.
I can't remember any RPGs where the main character WASN'T silent and WASN'T a complete moron at the same time.
Oh yeah, and 50% of the time they're blonde. I still haven't figured that one out, either.
