What RPG do you think has the best battle system? Me, I'd have to say the Ys games for SNES. You can't beat the "run into an enemy until it dies" formula ;D

Action-RPG style. You can't beat an active battle with RPG elements.

Tales of Destiny has a cool battle system, so does Star Ocean 2.
SMRPG also had a great system. Iv'e always been a fan of BOF's fighting system and part 4 is cool cause you can call members in and out.

I liked FFX's. It was like an ATB where the faster characters attack more often, but it let you sit and carefully think out each move like a TBS.

Got one!Tales of Destiny 2 for the psx,it is awesome, same as the first, but with some upgrade, like, the game still continue when doing magic for more real time fighting, this new thing allow you to make combo attacks, called Technical Hit,wich raise the damage done by the heros(mostly by 2%),also,magics can make more damage simply by using it,not all,but some, like I got magics giving 5 hits to the enemies(they can still dodge like you can dodge),theres also a summoning system, which allow you to summon mystical creatures called Craymel, but the best are normal combos, which the hit number is displaying on the screens, the longest the combos are,the more EXP point you'll earn after the battle, other then that,it's all like the first ToD.

It wasn't ToD2! It was ToE! (ask MPaul what it 'E' stands for besides a numerical value . . . Cause' I don't remember!)

I just hope they bring the real ToD2 for PS2 to US. It looks real good. ToE is Tales of Eternia, and the only reason they named it Tales of Destiny 2 is probably to get players to look for Tales of Destiny (I know from experience..lol)

I really dig Chrono Cross' battle system, though I'm not sure if it's the best... FFX battle system/ magic system is wonderful.
