Let me see, RM2k, more people own it, there isn't the problems with diferent versions and it's a little harder then rm2k3.
RM2k3, it's easier to use, have more options (some of them aren't really needed!), for graphics it's the same thing like in rm2k and have two diferent versions (Cow from Maker Universe and Advocate)
With those stats I still perfer rm2k ^^

The only other makers I've experimented with are Fiighter Maker 2k, Shooter Maker 95, Shpere and Click.

Theres game Maker, BlitzBasic, Darkbasic, Sphere, Rm2k, Rm2k3, Rpg toolkit, RPG Development studio, verge, Network Rm2k, JaMagic, 3d Game studio Max, klik, and ika to name a few of them. Most are free, not are all legally free though. These include Rm2k and Rm2k3.
